Affordable large SUVs from 2017, like the Chevrolet Tahoe

U.S. News list of affordable large SUVs isn’t very long, but the 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe is still at the top. Equipped with a powerful V8 engine and room for up to eight passengers, the Tahoe is suitable for big groups. The Chevy Tahoe received a predicted reliability rating of 4.5 stars from U.S. News and J.D. Power. If you can find the Tahoe Premier trim, it comes with a navigation system, blind spot monitoring, front parking sensors, and adaptive suspension. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the 2017 Tahoe a four-star overall safety rating.

Ford’s Expedition is an affordable large SUV from 2017

Passengers of the 2017 Ford Expedition can confirm it is spacious in all three rows. The interior is comfortable, and the Expedition is known to have low ownership costs. J.D. Power gave the 2017 version a 4.5-star reliability rating. Regarding standard safety features, the Expedition received a rearview camera and rear parking sensors. Blind-spot monitoring is available but not standard. The NHTSA gave the 2017 Ford Expedition a five-star safety rating.

The third row is suitable for adults and only adds to the cargo space. J.D. Power gave it a predicted reliability rating of four out of five. For those with a lot of passengers and cargo to move around town, the 2017 Sequoia is a good option. The NHTSA didn’t test much on the SUV but gave it four stars on the rollover test.

The Nissan Armada offers less value compared to other large SUVs

The 2017 Nissan Armada still has a powerful engine and a comfortable cabin. Passengers (up to eight) note that the second-row seats are extremely comfortable, but the first and third rows could use a little work. Unfortunately, the Armada only gets between 13 and 14 mpg in the city and between 18 and 19 mpg on the highway. For the price, there are just better affordable large SUVs from 2017. Neither the NHTSA nor Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) rated the Armada.

These affordable large SUVs from 2017 are some of the highest-rated options for the year. While some safety features were around, standard features were less common at this time. 2018 SUVs might have more of those if it is a priority.
