The 2023 Titan has a standard V8 engine
Perhaps one of the biggest selling points of the 2023 Nissan Titan is the fact that it comes with a standard V8 engine. The 5.6-liter V8 makes 400 horsepower and 413 pound-foot of torque, making it the only full-size truck to come with 400 hp as standard. Now, the new Titan is limited to one engine. But since it’s a V8, that is not necessarily a bad thing.
Each Nissan Titan features a nine-speed automatic transmission. Recently, this transmission has been affected by a recall, which has caused Nissan trucks to roll away. Even when they are parked. So that is something to keep in mind if you want to buy this full-size pickup.
The 2023 Nissan Titan has an off-road trim
If you want a new full-size truck, it’s likely you might want to do some off-roading. The Titan has the answer through the PRO-4X trim. This package adds things like skid plates and a locking rear differential. Plus, it comes from the factory with all-terrain tires.

Is Nissan discontinuing the Titan?
After low sales, it does appear that Nissan has plans to kill the Titan. Like other manufacturers, Nissan is working to electrify its lineup. But, apparently, the Titan did not make the cut. According to MotorTrend, we can expect the Titan to leave dealerships by 2025.
It’s hard to say if Nissan plans to offer a different full-size truck in the United States, or if it is leaving the segment altogether. The 2022 Nissan Frontier has proved Nissan can make a successful truck. But maybe the full-size pickup segment is just too competitive.
