The 2023 Honda CR-V is a completely new SUV for this year, and there are a few changes that you should know about. The CR-V is now in its sixth generation, and it is clear Honda has put quite a bit of effort in. The exterior styling has been improved, there is now more interior space, and it comes with new features. All things that have breathed new life into this two-row SUV.

The 2023 Honda CR-V has a roomier interior

One of the biggest perks of buying a new SUV is the passenger and cargo space. These vehicles usually offer more room than something like a sedan, and that has probably led to their rise in popularity. The 2022 CR-V offered just 33 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row, while the 2023 CR-V model has up to 39 cubic feet depending on the configuration.

The larger interior of the 2023 CR-V also means some more passenger space. And that is ideal for those looking for a family SUV. There are two rows of seating. But, it is worth noting that CR-V Hybrid models do come with slightly less space. But if you want a hybrid SUV, that might be a trade-off that you are willing to make.

The 2023 CR-V has many safety features

When it comes to buying a new SUV, safety is a key factor. According to Car and Driver, the new CR-V boasts a range of standard safety features. These features include things like forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking. Plus, you get standard blind spot monitoring.

It is worth mentioning that the NHTSA has not yet given the 2023 Honda CR-V an official rating. But, in 2022, this SUV did get some fairly high marks. And that should give you more peace of mind if you are on the fence about the 2023 Honda CR-V.

This Honda SUV has an improved powertrain

The 2023 CR-V still comes with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine. Honda has stated that it has retuned this powerplant to be more efficient and responsive. The engine makes 190 horsepower, which should be ample enough for most needs. If you want an SUV with all-wheel drive, the CR-V still has optional AWD.

If you don’t mind paying a premium, you can opt for a hybrid SUV. The Honda CR-V Hybrid is the standard configuration for the Sport and Sport Touring trim. The Sport Touring trim even comes standard with AWD. And that might be a perk to some.

Can you buy a 2023 Honda CR-V?

If you want a Honda CR-V, it is possible to buy the 2023 model. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the hybrid models are out quite yet. So, if you want a hybrid SUV, you will need to wait in order to purchase one.

It’s not clear how long the CR-V will be available. With supply chain constraints, buying a new car is no easy task. Especially if you want to pay MSRP.
