Recently, my social algorithm delivered a reel that I found pretty insightful. The account @parsa_transportation_ shared a short interview with a semi-truck driver. Interestingly, when asked, “What’s one place in America you hate going with your truck?” the driver responded, “I’ve got, like, five places.”

Rather than snarky socio-political gripes, the cities he gave thumbs-down were fairly justified from a thoughtful driving standpoint, in my mind. The clip is embedded below. Let’s see which locations he flagged.

Louisville, Kentucky

The driver explained that Lousiville has low bridges, making driving a semi-truck through the city teeth-clenching. “It’s hard to get around them, especially if you’re not a local.”

Nashville, Tennessee

What’s not to love about Nashville? “Potholes,” the truck driver quickly says. In fact, the city is dubbed “Crashville.” According to the driver, “You could be in a straight line, and a pothole will throw you into somebody else.”

Atlanta, Georgia

While Atlanta is known for its gridlocked traffic jams, the driver doesn’t mention them. Rather, he describes the risky behavior of what I would interpret as Dodge Charger and Challenger drivers. “Everybody in these Mopars riding around thinking they too fast and furious, you know?”

“Nobody likes the Northeast, but…Minnesota”

While the semi-truck operator doesn’t provide a full explanation here, he says that Minnesota is a headache, too.

Comments on the clip are mixed. Many agree with the semi-truck driver, while others claim they never have trouble in the flagged locations. Regarding Minnesota, some folks wonder why it’s on the list. One commenter, though, says they are from the state and understand why the sem-truck driver despises routes that take him there. Some speculate that the winter weather there is tough.
