3 Cool Things Kia’s New Telluride and Sorento X-Pro Trademark Could Mean
Kia just filed a trademark for the Sorento X-Pro and the Telluride X-Pro. The X-Pro is an off-road-ready trim level that’s currently headed for the 2023 Kia Sportage two-row SUV. Does Kia have plans to turn out off-road versions of the Sorento and Telluride in the future? Here are three totally cool things that could happen if that happens.
3. The Kia Sorento X-Pro and Kia Telluride X-Pro could have all-terrain tires
Right now both the Kia Sorento and the Kia Telluride are thought of as family SUVs – or at least passengers vehicles. One buys the Sorento and the Telluride with an eye on daily driving, regular errands, and perhaps the occasional trip. What is generally not at the top of the list for anyone buying the Kia Sorento or Telluride is the ability to go mudding or kick up some dirt on a trail. Yet if the Kia Sorento and Kia Telluride go X-Pro, that just might be the reason people start buying them.
Right now the 2023 Kia Sportage is getting ready to debut, and there’s an X-Pro trim level available. That trim has off-road ready tires, with 17-inch wheels and all-terrain tires. There’s also a 2023 Kia Sportage X-Line, which has 19-inch wheels and street tires, just in case you want the look of the X-Pro without committing to all that comes in the X-Pro.
2. The Kia Telluride and Sorento could get a suspension lift
Kia just filed trademarks with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the “Sorento X-Pro” and the “Telluride X-Pro.” If these two three-row SUVs get the X-Pro treatment, they could get a suspension lift, just like the 2023 Kia Sportage X-Pro is getting. How cool would it be to see the three-row Kia Telluride or Sorento lifted and maneuvering over the rocky and uneven terrain of some rugged landscape?
Other cool features of the X-Pro trim line may include LED fog lamps and a heated windshield, just like in the 2023 Kia Sportage.
1. The Kia Sorento and Kia Telluride could get a new and unique look
Part of the appeal of the 2023 Kia Sportage X-Pro is the unique styling that it’s getting. This lets anyone who sees it know that this is no ordinary Sportage that they’ve come across. If Kia makes good on their recent trademarks, both the Kia Sorento and the Kia Telluride could get that same look.
The 2023 Kia Sportage X-Pro has glossy black details, serious roof rack, and side garnish. You can also opt for a two-toned roof that differentiates the X-Pro from other Sportages. The X-Pro also has multi-terrain drive modes for more accurate control while off-roading. Plus, there are washer nozzles so you can keep it clean.
Of course, if you like the idea of the X-Pro trim level’s look, but not so much the lifted suspension and tough tires, there’s a chance that Kia may also make a Sorento X-Line and a Telluride X-Line. That would give you the option of looking like you have an off-road beast without making you actually buy one.
There’s no word on whether Kia has plans to actually turn these trademarks into plans for new versions of their popular three-row SUVs. If they do, it’s sure to draw a whole new crowd of shoppers to the Kia Sorento and the Kia Telluride. Soon there just might be off-road versions of all of your favorite Kia SUVs.
