There are luxury cars from the likes of Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Porsche, Ferrari, Lexus, and Jaguar that offer you ample comfort and lots of power. However, a trio of sedans set the bar incredibly high on luxury with price tags to match. Here are the most expensive cars of 2022, according to TrueCar:

1. 2022 Rolls-Royce Phantom

Starting MSRP: $467,750

The 2022 Rolls-Royce Phantom is the most expensive sedan on the market and one of the most expensive cars you can buy in 2022. Its starting MSRP is more than 18 times the price of TrueCar’s best car of 2022, the Hyundai Sonata.

However, you do get a lot for your money. The Rolls-Royce Phantom is nearly as long as a Ford F-250 and almost as heavy. Each model is unique to the buyer, but all come with high-quality materials that are meticulously crafted. You can enjoy heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats. The adaptive air suspension adjusts to the conditions on the road, providing a smooth ride.

A 10.25-inch infotainment display is connected to a 16-speaker audio system. Driver aids include lane departure warning, blind-spot monitor, and forward collision mitigation systems. Options like the Rear Theatre Configuration package include two rear deployable 12-inch screens. All models are powered by a 6.7-liter turbocharged V12 engine producing 653 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque.

2. 2022 Rolls-Royce Ghost

Starting MSRP: $343,000

The 2022 Rolls-Royce Ghost takes nearly $125,000 off the starting MSRP compared to the Phantom. It’s more than a foot shorter and 300 lbs lighter as well. However, you get plenty of power from its 6.7-liter twin-turbocharged V12, with 563 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque that can get you places quickly.

The luxury may not be as extravagant on the Ghost, but it still gives you plenty of comforts. The front row seats are heated bucket seats, and a cooling option is also available. The leather steering wheel accents the wood trim, and the ride is comfortable thanks to an active air suspension.

Drivers can enjoy additional safety aids like blind spot warnings, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and front night vision systems.

3. 2022 Bentley Flying Spur

Starting MSRP: $200,825

The first non-Rolls Royce on the list sees a massive price drop. Though it’s less than half the price of the Phantom, the Bentley Flying Spur offers plenty of standard features. Drivers get an adaptive suspension, heated and ventilated front and rear seats with massage settings, an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Behind the wheel, safety features, including blind-spot monitoring, a head-up display, lane departure mitigation, and a 360-degree camera system, are all standard.

The base Flying Spur model comes with a 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 engine with 542 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque. There are two other options: a 2.9-liter turbocharged plug-in hybrid V6 powertrain generating 536 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque and a 6.0-liter turbocharged W12 producing 626 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. All Bentley Flying Spur models come with all-wheel drive.

How expensive are these sedans?

The Rolls-Royce Phantom is in a class of its own in price. According to Motley Fool, the median home sales price from the first quarter of 2022 is $428,700. That’s a nationwide average. Looking at a state-by-state basis, the Phantom is more expensive than the typical home price in 40 out of the 50 states and the District of Columbia (D.C.) in the U.S. Only Hawaii, California, Colorado, D.C., Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, Oregon, Utah, and Washington have it beat.

The Ghost is much lower and comes below the national median home sales price. However, it’s still more expensive than the typical home price in 28 states. The Flying Spur is another drop; it’s more costly than a typical home in just six states.

Any way you go with this list, it will be one of the most expensive cars on the market.
