The electric pickup truck vehicle class is heating up. Several popular automakers are producing competitive electric trucks. Tesla CEO Elon Musk should be afraid of some of the Tesla Cybertruck’s greatest rivals.

The Ford F-150 Lightning could be America’s favorite electric pickup truck

The Ford F-150 Lightning is the first fully-electric Ford F-150 model. The Blue Oval is cashing in on the F-150’s rich history of reliability and excellence.

The F-150 Lightning shares many physical characteristics with its gas-powered ancestor. Its electric powertrain opens up a whole new world of possibilities for the pickup truck.

Unlike the Tesla Cybertruck, the Ford F-150 Lightning has a direct connection to a popular existing model. Many Ford fans have ordered the F-150 Lightning because of its capabilities as a work truck and a daily driver.

The F-150 Lightning is arguably the Cybertruck’s greatest rival in terms of popularity. Tesla may have the upper hand in the electric SUV segment thanks to the Tesla Model Y’s production history, but Ford beat Tesla to market with its electric truck.

Early Tesla models have prioritized comfort and performance. Tesla EVs tend to boast incredible performance specs. Unfortunately for Tesla, it isn’t the only electric automaker that prioritizes performance. American electric vehicle company Rivian produced the country’s first electric pickup truck.

The 2022 Rivian R1T Launch Edition’s performance specs will make some gearheads do a double-take. The R1T Launch Edition makes a massive 835 horsepower and 908 lb-ft of torque. It can go from 0-60 miles per hour in just 3.3 seconds. Launching the R1T Launch Edition feels like taking off in a rocket ship.

Elon Musk should be very afraid of the Rivian R1T because it is everything the Cybertruck was promised to be. The R1T even has incredible off-roading capability. From a performance standpoint, the Rivian R1T is the truck to beat in the electric pickup truck vehicle class.

The 2022 GMC Hummer EV Pickup’s design is funky enough to compete with the Tesla Cybertruck

The Tesla Cybertruck is known for its futuristic design. The cold-rolled stainless steel exterior is like nothing else on the market. GM’s answer to the Cybertruck is a new electric pickup with a very recognizable body. The Hummer EV Pickup is as over-the-top as you can imagine.

General Motors went big with the Hummer EV Pickup, and the company is betting big on EVs in the long run. Tesla may not have the funkiest electric truck design anymore, depending on who you ask. The Hummer EV Pickup also has crazy specs to match its wild design.

According to Car and Driver, the Hummer EV Pickup uses three electric motors to make 1,000 horsepower. Yup, you read that right. It includes awesome features like a Crab Walk Mode and a W.T.F. or Watts to Freedom launch control driving mode.

Tesla’s Cybertruck may have been impressive when it was first revealed, but by the time it comes out, it could pale in comparison to competitors. Tesla CEO Elon Musk should be very afraid of the Tesla Cybertruck’s rivals.
