U.S. News has released its list of the best electric vehicles for 2023 for those who might be considering the purchase of a new EV in the near future. In second place in the electric pickup truck category is the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning, with an overall U.S. News score of 9.3 out of 10.
If you’re a fan of the gas-powered Ford F-150, you’ll be happy to know that the F-150 Lightning has most of what you love about the F-150 but with a potent electric powertrain. It’s quick, as the name implies, with solid driving manners. It also has an abundance of convenience features, safety tech, and a good load capacity.
The new F-150 Lightning has a roomy interior and lots of technology. It’s fun to drive with good handling, particularly through turns and offers a lot of torque. It gets over 300 miles of driving range on the higher trims. Just keep in mind that the range drops when it’s cold outside, or you’re pulling a trailer.
The 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning has some unique features too. It provides several onboard power outlets for power on the go when you need it. It can be used as a generator for your home if the power goes out. You can even use it to charge another EV or plug-in hybrid.

U.S. News found the EQS to be a luxury electric car with an opulent, spacious cabin, thrilling performance, and enough storage space to match its peers. It has an eye-catching all-electric driving range of as much as 350 miles with solid acceleration.
Additionally, you’ll be comfortable on your travels with a smooth ride and a well-appointed interior with pleasant seating. The rear seats in the Pinnacle trim are upgraded for 2023, and the options and packages have been refreshed. The EQS also has an impressive list of standard features.
It’s a real contender in the luxury EV sedan class, able to hold its own against the likes of Lucid Air and Tesla Model 3. However, you’ll pay an impressive price, starting at around $104,000.
