Most average new vehicles can last for up to 200,000 miles. Some full-size SUVs have above-average longevity. Here are three full-size SUVs that should last over 250,000 miles.

The Chevrolet Suburban is a staple in its segment

The Chevy Suburban has been around for decades. It’s one of the oldest full-size SUV nameplates on the market.

According to a study by iSeeCars.com, the Chevrolet Suburban has a potential lifespan of a whopping 256,732 miles. That works out to nearly 18 years of ownership for a new Suburban based on the average annual driving distance.

The average new vehicle is only kept for about 8.4 years. Drivers can own a new Chevy Suburban for more than twice the average new vehicle ownership period.

The 2023 Chevrolet Suburban starts at $56,900. It uses a mighty 5.3-liter V8 engine to make 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. The Suburban achieves 21 miles per gallon in the city and 27 miles per gallon on the highway. It has incredible cargo space, a spacious interior, and great engine options.

The Toyota Land Cruiser is an off-road legend

The Toyota Land Cruiser had a run of over 60 years as one of the best full-size off-road SUVs on the market. It was discontinued in the United States after the 2021 model year, but drivers can still find used Land Cruisers.

The 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser has a starting price of $85,665. It uses a 5.7-liter V8 engine to make 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque. The Land Cruiser gets 13 miles per gallon in the city and 17 miles per gallon on the highway.

ISeeCars.com claims that the Toyota Land Cruiser has a potential lifespan of 280,236 miles. That works out to over 19 years of ownership based on the average annual driving range. The Land Cruiser may last a long time, but between its high starting price and poor fuel economy, it isn’t ideal for most average full-size SUV drivers.

The Toyota Sequoia is redesigned for 2023

The 2023 Toyota Sequoia starts at $58,365. It uses a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine and an electric motor to make 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque. The Sequoia gets 21 miles per gallon in the city and 24 miles per gallon on the highway. It’s the first standard hybrid Toyota Sequoia. The 2022 Sequoia only got 15 miles per gallon combined.

The Sequoia’s redesign has revitalized the nameplate. It now has a quiet cabin, an attractive new exterior design, and a more refined interior than previous model years. According to iSeeCars.com, the Toyota Sequoia has a potential lifespan of 296,509 miles.

So, a driver that purchases a brand-new 2023 Sequoia could get over 20 years of ownership out of the full-size SUV. In terms of longevity, the Sequoia is one of the best full-size SUVs that money can buy. In fact, very few SUVs on the market can get close to 300,000 miles. The Sequoia nameplate may be from a bygone era, but its redesign makes it the best of both worlds.
