3 Good Reasons You Don’t Need a 2020 Nissan Titan in Your Life
The Nissan Titan has been one of the lesser competitors in the full-size pickup truck space. Others like the Ford F-150 and the Ram 1500 pickup trucks dominate the market. For several model years, critics complained of dated tech and a lack of sheer strength and capability compared with other half-ton trucks. It hasn’t exactly been considered the best truck.
However, for the 2020 model year of this Nissan pickup truck elbowed its way back into the fray. Now, it’s in a position it can be a little more proud of. Still, not all of the Nissan Titan features are up to par. These are 3 good reasons you don’t need a 2020 Titan.
The 2020 Nissan Titan received a list of updates
According to Cars.com, the 2020 Nissan Titan got refreshing mid-cycle updates. Both the interior and the exterior got style updates. In addition, a host of modern tech and safety features. Plus, a new V8 engine with more power paired with a fresh nine-speed transmission. 2020 Titan tow capacity is 9,240 – 9,660 pounds––according to Car and Driver. It competes, sure. But is it one of the best truck options on the market? We don’t think so.
Overall, the new version of this Nissan pickup truck brings a lot more to the full-size pickup truck market than it did before. It competes better in terms of updated infotainment tech. In addition, the 2020 Nissan Titan pickup now offers standard automatic emergency braking, blindspot monitoring, pedestrian detection, and rear cross-traffic alert. Other Nissan Titan features such as automatic emergency braking can be optioned into the mix depending on the configuration you choose.
Nissan pickup truck pricing
According to Car and Driver, the 2020 Titan starts at $37,785. That’s about 10 grand higher than competitors like the Ford F-150 and the Ram 1500. In addition to this price gap, the Nissan pickup falls behind in terms of fuel economy and towing capacity. The high starting price is one of the more compelling reasons you don’t need a 2020 Nissan Titan in your life.
Not as many options
In spite of some compelling 2020 Nissan Titan pickup features, this truck doesn’t keep up in terms of options. Not only can you get a Ram 1500 or Ford F-150 for thousands less, but you also have more bed sizes and other options to choose from. The Nissan pickup truck only has a few configurations for buyers to customize.
“The 2020 Titan has just one powertrain, one wheelbase and a choice between the King (extended) Cab or crew cab. The King Cab is only available in the S, SV and Pro-4X trims, leaving few build combinations for those who want options.”

It’s a bit of a squeeze
The interior cabin space does boast comfy “Zero Gravity” seats up front. However, the space in the cab of the 2020 Nissan Titan pales in comparison to others like the Ram 1500 or the Ford F-150. It feels cramped and less open. In addition, the Nissan pickup truck has a tighter rear seat than the competition.
Overall, even with the updates, the 2020 Nissan Titan features are still just not quite up to par with the competition. At least in terms of pricing, options, and cabin space, the Titan isn’t the best 2020 truck. Other options are worth a look. Ultimately, however, if the Nissan Titan is still your favorite that’s fine. Just because it’s not the No. 1 pickup truck on the market doesn’t mean it’s necessarily a bad truck. No matter what the critics say, the choice comes down to whichever option the buyer favors.
