3 Hybrid Toyota Vehicles That Will Run Past 200,000 Miles
Sometimes certain brands tend to last longer than others, like Toyota. These hybrid Toyota vehicles made the top 20 for cars that have the potential to last more than 200,000 miles. The top 20 includes 10 Toyota cars, sport utility vehicles, and trucks, but these hybrids offer the best fuel economy.
You can’t have hybrid Toyota vehicles without the Prius
Everyone has heard about the Toyota Prius at some point, but iSeeCars found that it happened to have the longest potential lifespan out of any sedans in the lineup. This particular study looked at vehicles that have been on the market for at least 10 out of the last 20 years and cleared 200,000 miles. iSeeCars found the greatest potential lifespan for a Toyota Prius is 250,601 miles.
“Cars like the Prius and Camry Hybrid offer exceptional fuel economy, they can save car owners up to $10,000 in fuel costs over the course of 250,000 miles compared to similarly-sized non-hybrid vehicles, making all those miles much easier to afford,” said iSeeCars Executive Analyst Karl Brauer.
That landed the Prius in the sixth spot, and it is one of the only sedans in the top 10, besides the Toyota Avalon.
The Highlander Hybrid is another reliable Toyota vehicles
Next up for hybrid Toyota vehicles, the Highlander Hybrid came in 10th place with a potential lifespan of 244,994 miles. While the list had many SUVs, especially from Toyota, the Highlander Hybrid was the only hybrid SUV on the list. Toyota is undoubtedly known for making long-lasting vehicles, and the Highlander has a long history of reliability backing it.
Around 15.5% of all Toyota Highlander Hybrids currently on the road have 150,000 miles or more on the odometer. The average is approximately 4.6% for the hybrid SUV category.
While some vehicles have a few accolades, iSeeCars says the Highlander Hybrid was the safest, had the most horsepower, and was most spacious. That’s quite the list. If you have looked at the Highlander but wanted better fuel economy, the Hybdir Highlander might be worth another look.
Don’t overlook the Camry Hybrid for a reliable sedan
The Camry is one of Toyota’s best-selling vehicles, but the Hybrid is another good option for buyers to consider. The Prius, Highlander, and Camry rounded out the top three spots on the list of the most significant potential lifespan hybrids. iSeeCars says the Toyota Camry Hybrid has the potential to last 230,547 miles or more. Out of all Camry Hybrids on the road, approximately 9.3% have hit 150,000 miles or more. The average for the hybrid car category is around 4.6%.
At the end of the day, Toyota had 10 out of 20 vehicles on the list of cars that had the potential to last 200,000 miles or more. Three-row SUVs were the most popular options, such as the Sequoia, Land Cruiser, and 4Runner. Having three long-lasting hybrid Toyota vehicles to choose from isn’t the worst pool of potential opportunities, though.
