If you love taking long trips, but don’t like the idea of spending a fortune on fuel, or if you just love motorcycles, you should seriously consider parking a cruiser motorcycle in your garage.

Reasons you should buy a cruiser motorcycle include that it’s significantly more comfortable than other types of motorcycles, it’s easy to handle making it a great choice for novices, it’s great for touring, and it’s usually low maintenance. There are several comfortable cruiser motorcycles on the market today.

The BMW R 1200 GS

Without a doubt, the BMW R 1200 GS is one of the most popular cruising motorcycles on the market, a position that it’s held for a long time. The great thing about the BMW R 1200 GS is that it provides you with all the comfort you expect from a touring motorcycle, but you don’t have to sacrifice performance. This cruiser motorcycle is both fun to handle and comfortable to straddle.

BMW has worked hard to make the R 1200 GS one of the most versatile cruiser motorcycles on the market today. The bike features a high-torque engine that provides you with all the acceleration and cruising speed you desire. Plus, Hill Start Control, two different riding modes (rain and road,) improved safety while braking, an electronic automatic self-leveling suspension function, and tight sports suspension which improves the BMW R 1200 GS’s ability to handle off-road biking.

The Suzuki V-Strom 650

You’ll be hard-pressed to find a cruiser motorcycle that’s better equipped for long-distance touring then the Suzuki V-Strom 650. This sweet bike is a particular favorite of bikers who enjoy going on rides that cover thousands of miles.

The Suzuki V-Strom 650 is designed to keep you as comfortable as possible. Features bikers particularly appreciate include the heated handgrips, traction control which is now a standard feature on more recent models, standard dual-channel ABS, the vertically stacked headlight, adjustable windscreen, and large digital readouts.

Starting in 2017, Suzuki took steps to reduce the amount of noise you hear while riding this particular bike, a step that makes long trips much more enjoyable.

The one downside to the Suzuki V-Strom 650 is that it’s not ideal when for off-road conditions.

The Honda Gold Wing

Honda has two Gold Wing cruiser motorcycles; the regular Gold Wing and the Gold Wing F6B. Both are a great choice when you’re looking for the most comfortable cruiser motorcycles on the market today.

The regular Gold Wing has a 40-year history as one of the best cruiser motorcycles in the world. Even today, with so many other options on the market, many long-distance riders refuse to even consider any other bike.

While there are many great things about the Gold Wing F6B, motorcyclists who routinely put in daily rides that cover more than 500 miles swear that the regular Gold Wing is still the best option for all-day rides. They believe it’s the most comfortable option.

One of the surprising things about the Gold Wing F6B is that it has a short windscreen. Before trying the Gold Wing F6B, many bikers question the short windscreen.

Once you’ve ridden the bike, you discover that shortened design causes the air to rush over your shoulders instead of blasting you in the face. Many bikers find that they enjoy looking over the screen instead of staring through it. The Gold Wing F6B is 62 pounds lighter than the traditional Gold Wing. The lighter weight makes the bike easier for older riders to lift the bike off the ground, it also allows for a more agile riding experience.

Features that improve the Gold Wing’s handling and comfort include Double-wishbone suspension, automatic dual-clutch transmission, flat-6 engine, and plenty of storage.

All three of these bikes will help you fall in love with long, leisurely motorcycle excursions that take you from one end of the country to the other.
