Simply put, nostalgia sells and carmakers know this. Many of the most highly anticipated cars of the year are revivals of products from the past. These revivals are pretty much the perfect way for carmakers to blend their past and future success stories. Ford especially has done a great job of capitalizing off of nostalgia and Toyota has made a splash for doing it too. Here we’ve gathered a shortlist of the biggest car comebacks for 2020.

We have been hyping up the return of the Ford Bronco for years and, this lovable brute is here. From what we can tell so far, the new Bronco has the best parts of the old one. What’s even better is that there isn’t just one new Bronco, there’s a whole family of them. The 2021 Bronco is available as a 2-door and 4-door, plus there’s a new Bronco Sport variant.

The standard Bronco gets its power from a 2.3-liter turbocharged EcoBoost inline 4 that has an estimated 270 horsepower. There will also be an available 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged V6 EcoBoost engine that has an estimated 310 horsepower. Efficiency and adventure are the name of the game for the new Bronco and we’re especially happy about the resurrection of this nameplate.

Remember the original Toyota Venza? Toyota produced the original  Venza crossover from 2008 to 2015 in the U.S. The Venza was relatively popular for a while but in many ways, it was just ahead of its time. Toyota announced this past May that the Venza would return as an aggressive-looking hybrid.

The 2021 Venza’s powertrain features a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that’s combined with three electrical motors. Together, these power sources are projected to have 219 horsepower. The new Venza has already garnered positive buzz for its impressive fuel economy. This crossover utilizes a Predictive Efficient Drive function that helps it attain a combined 40 mpg. The 2021 Venza will also offer numerous attractive features including a JBL premium sound system and a Star Gaze panoramic sunroof.

2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Chevy sunsetted production of the original Trailblazer back in 2009. This SUV wasn’t much of a looker but the Trailblazer was ideal for those looking for a sweet spot between the Equinox and Suburban SUVs. Now, the Trailblazer is all-new for the 2021 model year. No longer is the Trailblazer the capable off-roader it once was. Instead, the SUV has reappeared as a subcompact crossover. While this might disappoint some, the Trailblazer’s affordable price point makes it an appealing choice.

The Trailblazer does get some bonus points for its trendy and bold exterior design. This Chevy also offers a sharp-looking cabin and many desirable in-car electronics. We’d say that the new Trailblazer is ideal for those looking for a chill city driver.
