3 Pros and 2 Cons of Driving a 2024 Acura Integra Type S Every Day
The 2024 Acura Integra Type S has taken the Internet by storm in the past few months. It’s no surprise, considering how aggressive it looks and all of the power that it comes with. We were getting a little “F.O.M.O,” but fortunately, Acura loaned us one for a few days. Here are a few pros and cons we found when driving it every day.
Pro: The 2024 Acura Integra Type S looks subtly menacing
One of the best enhancements Acura did to the Integra Type S over its normal counterpart is in the aesthetics department. The Type S adds a set of bold fender flares at every corner, a frameless front grille, and 19-inch wheels to fill the fender gaps. Beneath those wheels are a set of front Brembo brakes, which add to the look and make the car stop on a dime.
Ultimately, the Integra Type S’ overall look is subtly menacing, and it pulled some curious head turns from onlookers while we drove. That’s a plus.
Con: The Integra Type S gets good mileage, but it’s not stellar
The EPA estimates that the Acura Integra Type S should get up to 21 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. During our week of testing, which included a mix of highway and city driving at a mile-high elevation, we averaged 21.5 mpg. It’s not bad, but not too great, either.
Pro: 320 hp is hard to argue with and fun to drive
The crowning jewel of any Acura Type S product is its powertrain. As such, the 2024 Integra Type S is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine taken straight from the illustrious Honda Civic Type R. Acura changed the tuning slightly, so the mill in the Integra Type S puts out 320 hp, as opposed to 315.
That kind of power makes the car extremely fun to drive as the boost pressure builds quickly and smoothly to produce 310 lb-ft of torque throughout most of the powerband.
Con: It rides a little rough
Although the Acura Integra Type S is equipped with an adaptive suspension, it rides a little rough. Even in “comfort mode,” we found the car’s ride to be a little stiffer than we would like, especially over mild road imperfections. Then again, the Integra Type S is meant to be a street-ready race car, so all is forgiven. But it’s worth noting in case anyone was expecting a plush ride from this car.
Pro: It’s an Acura Integra, so It’s practical
Although all of the focus is on the Acura Integra Type S’ potent powertrain and racecar-like handling prowess, we shouldn’t forget that it’s practical. The Type S is based on the Integra’s four-door hatchback configuration that boasts four seats large enough for adults and a 24 cubic-foot trunk. That cargo area can easily swallow a few carry-on suitcases and backpacks. But if more space is needed, the rear seats fold down for more room.

Although we have only listed a few pros here, trust us, there’s plenty more to love about the 2024 Acura Integra Type S. Considering the car has been so popular as of late, it’s easy to disregard some of the rave reviews. But trust us, it’s really that good.
