3 Pros and 3 Cons of Driving a 2022 Nissan Rogue Platinum Every Day
We’re spending some quality time with the 2022 Nissan Rogue Platinum and finding that there is a lot to like about it. However, while there are plenty of pros to driving the Rogue every day, there are a few cons. Here is what we have found so far.
Pro: The 2022 Nissan Rogue has a comfortable and spacious interior
Getting in and out of the 2022 Nissan Rogue is easy as its ride height and roofline provide a wide opening for ingress and egress. There’s also plenty of head and legroom for the front and rear-seat occupants and ample cargo room. We have enjoyed the soft quilted semi-aniline leather seating surfaces, and the reclining rear seat is an added plus.
Pro: The turbocharged VC engine provides plenty of passing power
The main revision that Nissan made to the Rogue for the 2022 model year is in the engine compartment. Gone is the naturally aspirated 2.5-liter engine that once took up that space. It was exchanged for a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine that makes 201 hp and 225 lb-ft of torque. Those numbers may not mean much to the average buyer, but just know that the engine provides plenty of passing power when needed and is potent enough to quickly motivate the car up to freeway speeds.
Pro: There are handy storage solutions around the cabin and cargo area
We like to pack light whenever we go on trips, but it’s nice that the 2022 Rogue has plenty of storage solutions when needed. There are storage bins in the doors and under the center console. There’s a split-opening bin on the console itself as well. And when it comes to cargo storage, the Divide-N-Hide configurable storage system can keep stuff hidden and well-placed.
Con: There is a bit of road noise at different speeds
While the Nissan Rogue’s cabin is quiet when driving, we did detect some road noise at all speeds. We attribute it to the 19-inch wheels on the Platinum trim level, as larger wheels can equate to more noise. Fortunately, it’s not too loud and can be easily drowned out with the Bose sound system.
Con: The wireless charger works intermittently
This is a small thing to complain about, but if you’re the type that likes to charge their phone via a wireless charger, then you may be disappointed. We found that the wireless charger in the Rogue works intermittently instead of staying on as it should. It could be an issue that’s exclusive to our test car, but it’s something to note, considering the charger could get used every day.
Con: Although the Rogue’s engine is great, its acceleration is a little lazy
While we can’t praise the Nissan Rogue’s new engine enough when it comes to its power, we have to admit that it’s lazy to accelerate. It could be due to the car’s XTRONIC CVT, but we’re not sure. If anything, you just have to press the accelerator a little harder.
Pros and cons of driving a 2022 Nissan Rogue every day
Overall, we have found the 2022 Nissan Rogue to be a comfortable and potent daily driver. Although it has a few minor drawbacks, they’re nearly nothing compared to the benefits this little SUV brings to the table.
