The Honda Ridgeline is a mid-size truck that has long been praised by critics. But, it has never found major success with the buying public. As a unibody pickup, some may be skeptical about how much capability the Ridgeline may have. Honda’s truck comes with a standard V6 engine and a number of features that likely make it ideal for fulfilling a variety of roles. These three reasons specifically show that the 2022 Honda Ridgeline is a vehicle that is worth buying.

The 2022 Honda comes standard with a V6

Other pickup trucks may require you to pay extra to get the power of six cylinders, but that is not the case for the Ridgeline. According to Car and Driver, this unibody truck comes with a standard 3.5-liter V6 engine. This powerplant provides the 2022 Ridgeline with 280 horsepower and ample torque.

Also, thanks to this engine is the Ridgeline’s towing capacity. It can tow up to 5,000 pounds when it comes time to trailer something. That may not be as much as other mid-size trucks, but it can haul up to 1,584 lbs as well. And that should help with this truck’s utility.

The Ridgeline has a comfortable ride

When compared to other trucks, the Ridgeline is fairly comfortable thanks to its unibody construction. Other manufacturers must have taken note of that, as the Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz also use this kind of build. Whether you are on your commute or taking a road trip, the comfort of the 2022 Ridgeline is likely to be appreciated.

The cabin even seems quiet for a truck. Instead of dealing with road and wind noise, Honda has placed a focus on sound dampening. Even at high revs, the V6 engine does not sound overwhelming. And that is not something that other pickups do as well.

Honda’s mid-size truck has modern features

One of the biggest advantages of the 2022 Honda Ridgeline is its modern features. This truck comes standard with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Buyers can even opt for an available Wi-Fi system to help with connectivity on the road. Those in colder climates are likely to appreciate heated seats, a heated steering wheel, and heated side-view mirrors, all of which the Ridgeline offers.

One of the more exciting features of the Ridgeline lies in its truck bed. There is an available truck-bed audio system that quite literally turns the bed into one giant speaker. The system comes with six speakers and can be used when the truck is stopped or driving at speeds under 9 mph. This is sure to elevate your next camping trip or tailgate when the time for music comes.

Is the 2022 Honda Ridgeline a good truck?

The Ridgeline has consistently received praise from publications like Consumer Reports and others. But that praise has not translated into good sales for this mid-size truck. Still, if you do not need all of the capability of a full-size truck, the 2022 Ridgeline is likely enough.

Plus, it does not make you make the same compromises that other mid-size trucks do. And there is something to be said about that.
