3 Reasons the 2023 Toyota Camry SE Hybrid Nightshade Is the Best Trim For You
If you’re looking for a midsize sedan, the 2023 Toyota Camry is an exceptional choice. And if you want the best gas mileage out of the Camry, the hybrid model is the one to get. To make the car even more interesting, we suggest checking out the Nightshade trim level specifically. Here are a few reasons the 2023 Toyota Camry SE Hybrid Nightshade could be the best trim for you to buy.
1. The 2023 Toyota Camry SE Hybrid Nightshade starts at under $35,000
Midsize hybrid sedans aren’t cheap; however, the 2023 Toyota Camry SE Hybrid Nightshade won’t break your budget. This trim level is a special edition, but it costs less than $35,000. To be specific, Toyota gave the Camry SE Hybrid a starting MSRP of $30,890. Even with the $1,095 destination charge, you’re looking at spending around $31,985.
Our Camry SE Hybrid Nightshade test car came with a few options, including a Convenience package (that adds HomeLink and an auto-dimming rearview mirror), a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, and all-weather floor mats. The total price, as tested, came out to $32,839.
2. The Toyota Camry Hybrid gets amazing gas mileage
The most obvious reason to pick the Toyota Camry SE Hybrid is its stellar fuel efficiency ratings. According to the EPA, the Camry SE Hybrid can achieve up to 44 mpg in the city and 47 mpg on the highway. Remember that those numbers are in a perfect driving setting.
In our testing so far, we have managed to get around 38 mpg in mixed driving situations at a mile-high elevation. That’s still excellent considering the level of comfort and amenities you get with this trim level.
3. The Nightshade package makes the Toyota Camry look less boring
Although the 2023 Toyota Camry looks better than the previous generations, some may consider it boring. That’s why we recommend checking out the Nightshade trim level, as it spruces up the Camry’s looks with bronze TRD 19-inch wheels, a black front grille with a mesh insert, black mirror caps, and a rear spoiler.
Despite the “murdered-out” treatment, the Camry Nightshade trim level can be selected with a few different paint schemes. Our tester donned the automaker’s Reservoir Blue (dark blue) color, which we normally wouldn’t think would match bronze wheels. But alas, the color combination works really well.
The 2023 Toyota Camry SE Hybrid could be the right trim for you
If you’re shopping for a midsize sedan, there’s almost no better choice than the 2023 Toyota Camry. At this point, we recommend buying the hybrid model in order to save gas, and the Nightshade package only sweetens the deal.
