2022 Honda Civic delivers better performance than the 2022 Toyota Corolla

The first reason to buy a 2022 Honda Civic instead of a 2022 Toyota Corolla is the Civic delivers better performance than the Corolla. The base 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine in the Civic generates 158 hp. In comparison, the base 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine in the Corolla produces only 139 hp.

For greater performance, the 2022 Civic offers a 180-hp 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine. Also, the sporty Civic Si has another iteration of the turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which produces 200 hp.
