It can be difficult to choose between the Toyota RAV4 and Ford Bronco Sport. Both options are excellent SUVs for daily driving and adventuring. But we found three 2022 Ford Bronco Sport features that could make it a better choice. 

2022 Ford Bronco Sport vs. 2022 Toyota RAV4 

First, let’s start with pricing. The 2022 Ford Bronco Sport starts at $28,815, while the top-spec Badlands trim increases the price to about $36,590. The Badlands is the most off-roading-oriented model. 

You can get started with the 2022 Toyota RAV4 for about $26,975, and upgrading to the TRD Off-Road trim brings the price up to $39,915. The off-roading trims are pretty close, but the Sport may have more value. It does have standard AWD across the entire lineup. 

1. The Bronco Sport is better equipped for off-roading. 

With the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport Badlands, you get beefy all-terrain tires, an upgraded AWD system with a twin-clutch torque-vectoring rear end, and an enhanced off-roading suspension. You get additional driving modes for Mud/Ruts and Rock Crawl along with Trail Control. 

The Sport Badlands has tow hooks, skid plates, a rear differential, a forward-looking 18-degree camera system, upgraded shocks, and rubberized flooring. 

The 2022 Toyota RAV4 TRD Off-Road model has 18-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires, one skid plate in the front, and an off-road-tuned suspension. It has AWD lock and downhill control. Off-roading modes include Snow, Mud, and Sand. 

While the RAV4 features an 8.1-inch ground clearance, the Bronco Sport sits at 8.8-inches above the ground. It’s better protected and equipped for off-roading challenges. 

2. The Bronco Sport has better tech 

The 2022 Ford Bronco Sport has an 8.0-inch infotainment system with crisp and clear graphics. Plus, the 65-inch digital gauge cluster is easy to customize. The Bang & Olufsen radio system sounds great, and the forward-facing camera makes it easy to navigate through tight areas. 

While the 2022 Toyota RAV4 is well-equipped and modern, it’s a little lacking. The 7.0-inch touchscreen feels a bit dated and laggy. The JBL audio system doesn’t feel as immersive or clear. 

But the RAV4 does have an optional surround-view camera system that helps you avoid obstacles on narrow trails. Also, both SUVs have standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. 

3. The Bronco Sport might be more athletic 

The 2022 Toyota RAV4 has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 203 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. According to Edmunds, it can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 9.1 seconds, making it slower than the class average. 

With the Bronco Sport, the base engine is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 181 hp and 190 lb-ft of torque. You can upgrade to the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine for 245 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque. It can reach 60 mph in about 7.2 seconds. 

Both the RAV4 TRD Off-Raod and Bronco Sport have an off-roading nature, so they don’t have the smoothest rides. But the Bronco Sport has a slightly quieter interior, and the extra power comes in handy when passing others. 

The RAV4 can tow more, has more space, and has a better towing capacity. But the Bronco Sport is better equipped for off-roading, has updated tech, and a peppier performance.
