3 Reasons to Choose the 2023 Cadillac CT4 Over the New Acura Integra
Both the 2023 Cadillac CT4 and Acura Integra offer a good mixture of luxury and performance for a reasonable sum of money. They include the features buyers expect in a premium car and a rewarding driving experience.
Returning this year after a more than 20-year absence, the Integra is Acura’s premium small car. It’s based off the Honda Civic, making it an enjoyable car to drive. The CT4 is Cadillac’s compact performance sedan. It shares a lot of the same chiseled styling cues as the larger CT5 and is a very pleasing design. Both sedans are impressive. According to Kelley Blue Book, there are three reasons to choose the Cadillac CT4 over the Acura Integra.
1. Performance
Both the Acura Integra and Cadillac CT4 are rewarding to drive. However, the CT4 serves up more power from the engine. The base 2.0-liter four-cylinder makes 237 horsepower while the Integra puts out 200 horsepower from its 1.5-liter turbo.
Move up to the 2.7-liter turbo 4-cylinder engine and you get 310 horsepower. It’s more than enough to quickly dispatch the Integra, leaving it in the CT4’s wake. In fact, with its sub five-second 0 to 60 mph time, it will make short work of any number of cars, including those wearing a BMW Roundel or Mercedes-Benz three-pointed star.
2. Available AWD
The 2023 Cadillac CT4’s standard drivetrain layout is rear-wheel drive. However, the small Cadillac seems to live by Spider-Man’s mantra of “with great power comes great responsibility.” To that end, it’s available with optional all-wheel drive, something you can’t get on the Acura Integra.
All-wheel drive (AWD) provides two benefits for the CT4. First, for performance versions, it puts the power down through all four wheels, improving grip and acceleration. But there’s also a benefit to pairing AWD with the base 2.0-liter engine. Regardless of the engine choice, it inspires greater confidence on any road condition.
3. Infotainment System
The Cadillac CT4 includes wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This feature lets you access functionality on your phone like music, maps, and other apps without taking your phone out or having to plug it in.
In addition to the wireless connectivity, the standard infotainment system includes an 8-inch touchscreen and two USB ports. Amazon Alexa, HD Radio, and Sirius XM are also included.
The 2023 Cadillac CT4 is the performance bargain of the compact luxury car segment
The Cadillac CT4 is not only a good compact luxury car. It’s the performance bargain of the segment.
Starting at just over $34,000 the base CT4 offers spirited performance with fuel economy up to 34 mpg on the highway. Prices go up from there, but even the V-Series models are competitively priced for what they offer in terms of dynamic performance.
There are cars in the CT4’s class that have more brand recognition, more features, or offer a more prestigious nameplate. However, the Cadillac CT4 is an ideal driving machine.
