The 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E comes in a few different trim levels, including the Mach-E Select, which acts as the base model, the Mach-E Premium, which is the mid-range model, the special edition Mach-E California Route 1 model, and the top of the line Mach-E GT.

However, despite all of these different options and models available, the base model Mach-E Select seems to be the perfect vehicle for most Mach-E customers. Here are three reasons why the base 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E is worth your consideration.

The Select is the cheapest Mustang Mach-E you can buy

The first reason to buy the Mustang Mach-E Select is the most obvious; the Select model is the most affordable. The Mustang Mach-E Select starts at around $42,995, which is $4,000 less than the mid-range Premium model. For this price, you get seating for five, an electric powertrain that is good for 266 horsepower, and some safety fantastic safety features.

This low MSRP is even better when you factor in the $7,500 new EV tax credit that is still available for Mach-E Mustangs. With this discount, you are looking at getting a brand-new Mach-E Mustang for less than $35,500.

The base Mustang Mach-E has enough range for everyone

Range anxiety is a true worry for many first-time EV buyers, but the Mach-E Mustang offers a great amount of range for the money. According to Ford, the base model Mach-E comes with a standard range of 250 miles and fast charging capability, which can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in just 45 minutes.

With most small cars like the Chevy Spark offering a full gas tank range of around 300 miles, you are essentially getting the same amount of range as a small economy car. This range will only make an impact on long trips, and even then, there are plenty of fast charging stations across U.S. highways to help accommodate traveling with a Mach-E.

The Mach-E Select has a surprising number of luxury features

Despite the Mustang Mach-E Select being offered as the base model, there are already a great number of standard features including a wireless charging pad, a 10.2-inch digital instrument panel cluster, a 360-degree view camera, and a 15.5-inch LCD touchscreen.

Ford’s BlueCruise 1.2 also comes standard on a 90-day trial which can be extended. The Mustang Mach-E also comes equipped with Ford Co-Pinot 360, which includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane keep assist, automatic high beams, automatic reverse braking, rear parking sensors, and post-collision braking.

The Select trim gives you all of these features for a lower MSRP, especially after the federal tax credit is factored in. The mid-trim level of the Mach-E, the Premium model, offers all of the same features as the Select with mostly just cosmetic changes found throughout the Premium model.
