You might think that it’s impossible to get it all with used SUVs. However, you can get pretty close. Check out three of the best options that are reliable and fuel-efficient. These are long-lasting, gas-sipping vehicles. 

3 reliable used SUVs that save gas 

First up on my list of affordable used SUVs that are reliable fuel savers is the 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid. Solid used models range from between $19,000 to $26,000 in my area. Things could be even cheaper where you live. 

The 2020 CR-V Hybrid pairs a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors and a battery pack to generate 212 hp. It gets an EPA-estimated 40 mpg in the city and up to 35 mpg on the highway. 

Plus, the CR-V Hybrid has a reliability rating of 4.6 out of 5.0 from Cars.com. That’s one impressive above-average rating. 

Next up on this list of used SUVs, I’m recommending the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid. There are enticing deals on this hybrid SUV for between $19,000 to $28,000.

The Santa Fe Hybrid pairs a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with two electric motors to generate 226 hp. It gets an EPA-estimated 36 mpg in the city and up to 31 mpg on the highway. 

It’s right on the heels of the CR-V with an above-average reliability rating of 4.5 out of 5.0 from Cars.com. 

Last but not least, the 2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is an excellent find. Models in my area cost between $19,000 and $27,000. 

This hybrid SUV pairs a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with three electric motors to produce 219 hp. It gets an EPA-estimated 41 mpg in the city and up to 38 mpg on the highway. 

The 2020 RAV4 Hybrid has the highest reliability rating on my list. It earned a score of 4.9 out of 5.0 from Cars.com.
