The Jeep Compass might be the most comfortable option in the Jeep lineup, but it struggles in the performance department. 2020 Honda CR-V

Honda’s CR-V is the crossover SUV class-leader. It’s fuel-efficient and offers an engaging driving experience. The CR-V is powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes a 190 horsepower. This definitely isn’t the most forceful option on our list but the CR-V makes up for that with its responsive handling. Drivers also appreciate that the CR-V is easy to maneuver in tricky driving situations.  

The CR-V really shines on the inside. Its handsome cabin is comfortable and durable, plus there’s plenty of head- and legroom throughout, even for adults. There’s also an abundance of in-car electronics but unfortunately, not many infotainment features come standard. The most exciting standard infotainment features is a 5-inch display screen and Bluetooth.

To be fair though, the Compass is better for off-roading, but the Crosstrek offers a smoother ride quality overall. The Crosstrek features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that’s paired with a continuously variable transmission. Overall, this blend works well, plus the Crosstrek gets a combined 29 mpg. There’s also a hybridized version of the Crosstrek but it’s not the best value buy. 

What makes the Crosstrek even more appealing is its attractive and inviting cabin. It can comfortably seat five passengers, plus the available cargo space is impressive as well. Another highlight here is the Crosstrek’s user-friendly infotainment system and available driver-assist features. Consumer Reports also gave the Crosstrek a great predicted reliability rating. 

2020 Toyota RAV4

The best-selling Toyota RAV4 is for those who don’t mind a roaring engine. One of the best things about the RAV4 is its variety of trim levels. You can keep things simple with the LE base model or have a more luxurious experience with the XLE Premium trim. For more performance capabilities, there’s also the Adventure trim as well as the TRD Off-Road option. 

Some complain that the RAV4’s engine is too loud, however, it offers an enjoyable driving experience overall. This crossover comes with a 203-hp four-cylinder engine that’s mated with an eight-speed. The RAV4 also has an outstanding fuel economy rating. There isn’t much to rave about regarding the RAV4’s interior design but it does come with a desirable infotainment system. Standard infotainment features include a wifi hotspot, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Amazon Alexa.
