Although the 2023 Honda Ridgeline hasn’t gotten any major updates from the 2022 model, it is still an exciting pickup truck. This vehicle comes standard with a V6 engine, all-wheel drive, and a number of convenient features. Because of that, it is not a mid-size truck that you should count out. But, it does seem like many shoppers do just that. The Ridgeline has never been a top seller, despite all it brings to the table. And these three features show why the 2023 Honda Ridgeline should not be counted out. 

The 2023 Ridgeline offers standard AWD

For many mid-size truck buyers, power going to all four wheels is a necessity. And that is exactly what the 2023 Honda Ridgeline offers. Each Ridgeline comes standard with AWD, meaning they are well-equipped to handle things like winter weather. Although the Ridgeline does not have four-wheel drive, AWD should be good enough for most uses. 

Better yet, each Ridgeline also offers a 3.5-liter V6 engine that makes 280 horsepower and 262 pound-foot of torque. Instead of having to pay extra for the power of six cylinders, this Honda truck makes it standard. According to Car and Driver, the engine does have smooth power delivery and feels ample enough for a pickup of this size. 

Honda’s truck is comfortable

This might be a bit of a downside to some, but the 2023 Ridgeline is legitimately comfortable. It rides on the same platform as the Honda Pilot, so it rides more like a crossover than a traditional truck. Additionally, this mid-size truck utilizes coil-sprung independent rear suspension. Typically, you would expect a truck to have leaf springs and a solid rear axle. 

The interior is where the Honda Ridgeline really shines. There is plenty of rear space for passengers, and you can opt for leather-trimmed seats. Other features include optional heated front seats, ideal for when the temperature drops outside. 

The 2023 Honda Ridgeline’s bed has party tricks

One of the major reasons folks purchase a pickup is to have the utility of a truck bed. The Ridgeline does only have one bed size, and it’s 5.3-inches. That length is fairly standard for mid-size trucks with short beds. The Ridgeline does have a fairly wide bed, though, you can fit four-by-eight-foot items, like building material, flat in the bed. 

There is also a locking, weather-tight storage area within the bed. This will provide you with 7.3 cubic-feet of storage for smaller items you might not want rolling around in the bed. And that is something to be appreciated. The tricks don’t stop there; if you like tailgating with your truck, you can opt for an in-bed audio system. This system will turn your pickup bed into a giant speaker, ideal for parties or camping. 

Should you buy a 2023 Honda Ridgeline?

If you want the utility of a truck bed but don’t care for the harsh ride that some mid-size pickups have, the 2023 Ridgeline is ideal. Now, it does have a base price of around $40,000, so it is not the most affordable truck on the market. But for some, the features this vehicle brings to the table might be worth it.
