3 Things Make the Ram 2500 HD Rebel the Perfect Work Truck
We’ve had a wonderful time being large and in charge with the Ram 2500 HD Rebel. During our week of driving on the pavement, off-roading, work, and play, we discovered that the 2023 Ram 2500 HD Rebel stands out as an excellent work truck.
How much does the 2023 Ram 2500 HD Rebel cost?
The 2023 Ram 2500 HD Rebel price starts at $68,490, and we understand that the price tag has a substantial impact. Plus, upgrading to the diesel engine adds $9,595. But it does have its fuel-saving advantages and packs extra muscle.
Also, the new Heavy-duty Rebel answers customer demands. People wanted a Heavy-duty Ram with more off-roading capabilities. The PowerWagon is well-equipped for tackling the wild but can only tow up to 10,525.
Drivers asked for more towing power, and they were provided with the Rebel, which can tow up to 16,870 lbs and carry a payload of up to 3,140 lbs. The Ram 2500 HD Rebel is the work truck that people have been waiting for!
1. The Ram 2500 HD Rebel has tons of storage space
There are multiple places to store tools and gear in and around the 2023 Ram 2500 HD Rebel. There are Ram lock boxes on both sides of the bed that are deep and wide. It’s pretty convenient to unlock them and place toolboxes or groceries.
Shorter folks around 5’1″ can easily reach and use them, despite being located on top of the tall truck beds. Plus, they’re lined with durable rubber. It seems scratch resistant and will hold up to wet or muddy items.
The center console is massive. It’s so deep and has storage trays and bins to help with organization. It also has a cubby on top and is surrounded by trays and cubbies. One section slides forward and back to provide access to another deep bin by the gear shifter.
We are impressed by how big the glove box is, and another cubby sits above it. There is rear seat storage under the rear seats, and they’re easy to fold up. Another tab folds out to prove storage bins and can be used to create a massive, flat loading floor.
Also, cup holders are everywhere. All of your coworkers can bring multiple beverages to stay hydrated during long shifts.
2. The Ram HD Rebel will get the job done
There’s no way to easily stop the 2023 Ram 2500 HD Rebel in the woods. The Cummins 6.7-liter inline-six turbodiesel engine provides 370 hp and 850 lb-ft of torque. We were worried about its size and weight in the woods, but it didn’t have any issues.
The Ram HD Rebel is solid and confident in mud, ruts, washed-out roads, and uneven surfaces. It can climb steep inclines and is surprisingly agile. It’s easy to turn around on narrow dirt trails and work sites.
It has a two-speed transfer case, protective skid plates, 20-inch eight-lug wheels wrapped in 33-inch tires, and a locking rear differential.
The off-roading stats on the digital gauge cluster and infotainment system provide confidence and peace of mind. You can see how much power is being sent to each wheel, multiple camera views to avoid obstacles, and your pitch and roll.
You should be able to tow equipment to the job site with ease. Multiple trailering camera views, including one from the rear bumper, lets you keep an eye on things. You can see each feed on the digital rearview mirror or the infotainment screen.
3. The Ram 2500 HD doesn’t cause fatigue
Driving larger rigs can be exhausting because they’re loud, stiff, slow, and challenging to maneuver. But the 2023 Ram 2500 HD Rebel is surprisingly convenient. You can still feel the diesel engine vibrate under harder accelerations, but it’s an improvement compared to older trucks.
While the diesel engine is pretty loud, the Ram 2500 features active noise-canceling software to provide a peaceful cabin. The engine is a little louder while climbing over obstacles, but it’s easy to cover with the radio or tune out.
Also, the massive leather seats are well-padded and inviting for hours of comfort. People can stretch out and relax in the front and back. The dual-zone climate control is strong and effective for personal comfort settings too.
Driving the Ram 2500 HD rebel on the highway and narrow streets is an engaging et low effort activity. The safety features are subtle yet helpful, and the ride is pretty smooth. Larger impacts can hit hard but are quickly settled.
Plus, this large truck is nimble. Taking it into town for lunch or errands isn’t a big deal. It’s quick and easy. Parking the Ram 2500 HD Rebel is super easy, thanks to its tight turning radius. The camera views provide tons of visibility for backup or correcting too.
The 2023 Ram 2500 HD Rebel may have a premium price tag, but it’s a good investment. It’s durable, comfortable, powerful, and convenient for work and daily driving.
