Picking out a new car can be fun, especially if you’re hunting for a three-row SUV. These are great for road trips, zipping around town with friends, or hauling the family. Finding the right one for you may not be an easy task. Especially these days when there are so many on the market, it’s easy for great SUVs to fly under the radar. These three SUVs aren’t best-sellers for their company, but still deserve some consideration.

The 2023 Chevrolet Traverse offers plenty of room in the third-row

We, and critics like Edmunds, enjoy the 2023 Chevrolet Traverse because there is plenty of room for passengers in the second and third rows. This is quite unusual for three-row vehicles. The third row is often so tight that adults may feel more comfortable sitting cross-legged than trying to rest their feet on the floorboard.

The Traverse doesn’t have this issue, however, and is even improved thanks to second-row seats which can be moved forward if needed.

The 2023 Traverse comes equipped with a V6 engine that generates 310 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. It gets 18 mpg city, 27 hwy, and 21 combined. This is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.

There are eight seats in total, so you can bring the whole gang along for the ride. It will cost you between $44,800-$59,470, which isn’t terrible for this class.

The 2023 Buick Enclave is one of the best 3-row SUVs

The 2023 Buick Enclave also has a roomy third-row seat. It’s not exactly comfortable for adults with long legs, as the seats are low, but it’s manageable for short trips to the grocery store or around town. 

The one major problem with the third-row seats is that they can’t be flipped down. This can be a pain for anyone who plans to lay the seats down to increase the cargo space.

The 2023 Enclave has a V6-cylinder engine that produces 310 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. It’s interesting to note that this is the exact same as the Traverse, so if you’re going off engine power, then there really is no difference.

The gas mileage is slightly lower, as the Enclave gets 18 city, 26 hwy, and 21 combined. Another area that the Traverse manages to beat out the Enclave is seating. The Enclave only has room for seven passengers. 

The MSRP ranges for the 2023 Buick Enclave are about $44,800-$59,470.

The 2023 BMW X7 is a luxurious 3-row SUV

The 2023 BMW X7 is the most expensive 3-row SUV on this list with an MSRP ranging from around $77,850-$145,000. If you can afford it, the X7 is definitely worth it. It has been updated for the 2023 model year and offers features you can’t get on the 2022.

The third row is nothing to sing about, as it’s so small, only children can ride back there comfortably. The seats are low, and it offers very little in the way of legroom. Finding a place to rest your feet if you have long legs is definitely going to be an issue. 

If you have a family with young children, however, the 2023 BMW 7 should be on your radar. It comes equipped with an inline 6-cylinder engine. This generates 375 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque. This is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

Whereas the Enclave and Traverse have a 3-year/30,000-mile warranty, the X7 has a 4-year/50,000-mile warranty.

The gas mileage is also superior. The X7 has an EPA rating of 21 city, 25 hwy, and 22 combined. It does seat only seven passengers, so this is something to be aware of before you pick one up for yourself.
