3 Used Luxury SUVs to Skip Over and What to Buy Instead
Finding a reliable used SUV can seem like a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be. These are some used luxury SUVs to skip over and a better sport utility vehicle option to look for. You can find all of the 2020 SUVs from Porsche, Range Rover, Audi, and more, below.
You can skip the Range Rover, but there is a better used luxury SUV option from Porsche
Unfortunately, for the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover, it doesn’t matter which year you go with. Edmunds gives a well-rounded review of each year, but the Rover hasn’t improved much over the years. It has plenty of luxury and off-road capability, plus all the luxury one might expect. However, the Range Rover is famous for being in the shop regularly. Edmunds says the ride is rough, and the infotainment system can be hard to use.
List Price Range: $76,000 – $128,846
Luxury SUV to buy instead: 2020 Porsche Cayenne
The price of a used Cayenne is comparable to the Land Rover SUV but generally has better reviews. Edmunds said it had “truly impressive” handling and “exquisite interior” quality.
The Buick Enclave is a used luxury SUV you can skip
The 2020 Buick Enclave is technically a used luxury SUV, even though some people might refute that claim. Edmunds notes that it has generous cargo space and enough room for passengers. When it comes down to it, the Buick Enclave costs more than some of its rivals but doesn’t offer any extra luxury. Most people would be hard-pressed to call this one a used luxury SUV you want to buy.
List Price Range: $27,198 – $50,999
Luxury SUV to buy instead: 2020 Mini Cooper Countryman
While the MINI Countryman looks tiny, it has a lot to offer in that small package. It is similarly priced to the Enclave but has a higher quality cabin and an exciting drive. It isn’t going to be a good fit for all drivers, but the MINI is a good option.
Lincoln’s Aviator isn’t bad, but there are better options in the same price range
For the 2020 Lincoln Aviator, this was its first year back as the Aviator. Edmunds says it has an upscale design and plenty of standard features. The ride is almost too soft and comfortable, making the Lincoln SUV a bit hard to maneuver. While it is a larger used luxury SUV, the visibility is hindered.
List Price Range:$44,000 – $66,493
Luxury SUV to buy instead: 2020 Audi Q7
For a similar price, buyers can pick up the Q7 luxury SUV. It has exceptional interior quality and a plush ride, regardless of road conditions. Edmunds also notes that the Audi SUV is more agile than it looks.
Not all used luxury SUVs are created equal, but that doesn’t mean a good option is out of budget. The suggested option to buy instead is generally around the same price but has more to offer. Either way, don’t get caught in an unreliable sport utility vehicle if you can help it.
