1. The Chevy Colorado has a better price
Back in the day, there were two cheap and reliable truck options you could buy, the Chevy Colorado and the Nissan Frontier. However, the Nissan Frontier is taking a turn by upping its price for the 2020 model. Due to a power boost, it will have a starting price of around $27k.
The 2019 Nissan Frontier currently starts around $20k, so the price increase is one major leap. The 2020 Nissan Frontier didn’t receive any updates aside from a powertrain boost, so will the new 2021 Nissan Frontier be even more expensive?

The 2020 Chevy Colorado, which is available now, unlike the Nissan Frontier, starts around $21k. The 2021 Chevy Colorado will start around $25k, which is still a price increase.
But not as much as the Nissan Frontiers. With the Ford Ranger starting around $24k, and the Toyota Tacoma starting around $26k, both trucks will have competitive prices instead of being the bargain deal.
2. The Chevy Colorado has updated tech
If you can’t decide between the 2019 Nissan Frontier and 2019 Chevy Colorado, decide if you want a new truck feeling or not. The Nissan Frontier hasn’t had much of an update in 14 years. However, the Chevy Colorado just got a fresh look in 2019.
Along with becoming more confident looking, the Chevy Colorado also got more tech. It has Apple Carplay, Android Auto, optional wireless charging, an available Wi-fi hotspot, and more. Meanwhile, the Nissan Frontier has a standard infotainment center.
The 2020 Nissan Frontier didn’t receive very many tech updates, either. It has a plain, straightforward interior, which is fine if that’s what you want. However, the Chevy Colorado makes connecting to your phone easier and offers more interior comfort.
3. The Chevy Colorado has more power
When it comes to trucks, muscle is essential, and the Chevy Colorado brings the heat while the Nissan Frontier is lukewarm. The 2019 Nissan Frontier has a standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder base engine. It produces 152 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque.
You can also upgrade to the 4.0-liter V6 engine for 261 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque. The Nissan Frontier can tow up to 6,720 lb with the King Cab format. It can also carry a payload of up to 1,430 lb with the V6 engine.
The Chevy Colorado comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that offers 200 horsepower and 191 lb-ft of torque. You can upgrade to the 3.6-liter V6 engine that provides 308 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque.
Plus, there is the optional turbo-diesel engine too, which is a 2.8-liter four-cylinder option. It cranks out 186 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. The Chevy Colorado can tow up to 7,700 lb with the V6 engine and carry a payload of up to 1,566 lb.
