338,000 Jeep Grand Cherokees Recalled for Suspension Issues
Every time I turn around there’s another vehicle recall! Today’s recall is related to the Jeep Grand Cherokee. If you have a 2021 – 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee model then you might need to visit a local dealership to have its suspension repaired.
Jeep Grand Cherokee recall alert due to suspension issues
Roughly 338,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee models are being recalled due to a suspension problem that may impact the steering and stability.
The models involved include 2021 – 2023 Grand Cherokee L models and 2022 – 2023 Grand Cherokee SUVs.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the upper control ball joint and steering knuckle may separate, causing the wheel to fall outward. This may result in the loss of vehicle control.
The problem is also related to damaged pinch bolts in the suspension’s upper control arms. Stellantis shared you may notice if the parts are separating if you hear strange noises while driving over bumps.
Stellantis will begin notifying owners at risk via mail on April 12. You can call Stellantis at 800-853-1403 or the NHSTA at 888-327-4236 with any questions that you may have.
The Stellantis number for this recall is 10B and the NHSTA number is 24V132. Also, you can enter your 17-digit V.I.N. on the NHSTA site to see if your Grand Cherokee is at risk.
Jeep is aware of 20 complaints related to the issue. So far, there are no reports of related accidents or injuries.
If your Jeep Grand Cherokee is involved, you’ll need to take it to a local Jeep dealership for service. Any dealership is fine, you don’t have to return to the location where you purchased your Jeep.
Jeep technicians will inspect the suspension and replace damaged or loose components as necessary free of charge. If you already paid to have this problem corrected, you’re eligible for reimbursement.
