With all of the first-world problems surrounding us, we need hope. We need a hypercar that goes beyond reality. MotorBiscuit has found it. Buckle up, because this stretches credibility beyond any boundaries. But it is a fun look at the exploits of a Bulgarian company claiming to be building a 5,000 hp hypercar with the ability to go 363 mph. But that’s just the beginning, as we present the Alieno Arcanum and Unum EVs.

Where did the Alieno Arcanum hypercar EV go?

Going way beyond the capabilities of the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, Alieno (Alien in Italian) first brought the Arcanum in 2018. Its horsepower was claimed to be between 2,610 hp and 5,221 hp, depending on which battery and electric motor combo you bought. Unfortunately, there are no actual images of an Arcanum, but that shouldn’t sway you now that Alieno has released its second hypercar.

The Arcanum’s predecessor is the Unum (“one” in Latin). Now hang on while we give you some of its specifications. The all-electric platform is called THF. This stands for “The Heavenly Founder.” It features a cold air thruster system called TRS, or “The Rocket Successor.” Part of the system involves pressurized gas, it says.

The Alieno Unum hypercar EV has an “octopus synergistic system”

These two systems, the THF and TRS, form what Alieno calls its “octopus synergistic system.” We’re not sure whether we should be scared or laugh. Stay with us while we delineate the models available for Unum.

Alieno will make the Unum in four versions; the RP2, RP3, RP4, and RP5. The “RP” stands for “raw power.” We were sure it stood for “real puzzling.” Within these offerings, there is the STR, which stands for Street, TRC, which is the Track model, and the RCE, which is the Race version.

The Unum RP5 features six electric motors per wheel

As with the Arcanum, the RP2 Unum starts with 2,610 hp, which it gets from two electric motors per corner. So now you know where this is going, right? With the ultimate RP5 version, you get 24 electric motors. This means six motors per wheel. Why not an RP8 with 48 motors?

Alieno claims that this combination clearly establishes the Unum as the fastest production vehicle ever made. We would wholeheartedly agree, except for one tiny problem. It is not in production. Nor was the Arcanum. We hate to be naysayers, but right now they’re 0 for 2.

A full charge in under 10 minutes?

Now, let’s discuss the battery packs for the Unum. Three battery packs will be offered, the 180kWh Street Battery Pack, 120 kWh Track Battery Pack, and 60 kWh Race Battery Pack. These all tie into an 800-volt charging system that truly goes beyond anything available now.

So a zero to 100 percent charge with a 350 kW charger takes 30 minutes with the SBP, 20 minutes for the TBP, and 10 minutes with the RBP. If you don’t believe these claims, you’re really going to be shaking your head now. Alieno says that with its own charging network, which it will build up, it can charge at 900 kWh for the RBP, then 1,800 kW with the TBP, and 2,700 kW for the RBP. If you do the math, these figures mean a full charge could take less than five minutes. We’re not confirming these results, we’re just relaying the figures Alieno gave us.

Step up if you have hypercar fever, faith, and $4.5 million

Are you still with us? That means you might be interested in an Alieno EV for your own? First, you’ll have a wait on your hands, as deliveries won’t start until 18 to 30 months. Still with us? For the RCE version, you can figure around $4.5 million. Give or take.

So if the numbers and design intrigue you, and you can wait up to five years, and have an extra $4.5 million, you could be styling in an Unum. But keep in mind that the Arcanum could be considered a vapor hypercar. With the emphasis on “vapor.” But if this is actually a real deal, it could be worth 4.5 just to have such an insane, over-the-top EV, for your transportation needs.
