3. The Charger is available in AWD form

The Toyota Avalon is only available in a front-wheel-drive configuration, while the Charger is primarily a rear-drive car. However, any buyers that live in snow states can rejoice over the fact that the Charger is also available in all-wheel-drive form. Only the base V6 models are the Charger models that are able to spin all four wheels, but it’s nice to have the added traction when needed.

4. The Dodge Charger has a larger fuel tank for more range

Speaking of base-model V6 engines, the 3.5-liter mill in the Toyota Avalon is rated at 22 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. That’s a little better than the V6 Charger’s 19 city and 30 mpg highway figures, but there’s a small ace up the muscle car’s sleeve. That ace is its 18.5-gallon gas tank, which allows it to go up to 426 miles on one tank.

In comparison, the Toyota Avalon has a 14.5-gallon tank, which affords it a total range of 395 miles, according to fueleconomy.gov.

The 2022 Dodge Charger does have some advantages over the Toyota Avalon
