Sorting through the best cars for families isn’t an easytask. You’ll want to choose something that’s large enough for your brood, yet easy to put kids and maybe car seats into, as well as to get them out of. And those car seats – well, those can be a major headache to install, if not done correctly. Some vehicles make it easier than others to properly install a car seat. These are four of the best SUVs for families, according to U.S. News.

How did U.S. news choose the best SUVs for families? To determine the best cars for families, U.S. News combed the data of 90 vehicles. They combined reviews, safety, reliability ratings, passenger and also cargo capacity, and “family-friendly features.”  The four SUVs that made the list are worthy of being called the best, and that’s probably not much of a surprise to anyone.

The 2021 Honda Passport is a two-row SUV that’s one of the best cars for families

The 2021 Honda Passport is a two-row SUV that U.S. News refers to as a sort of a cross-over. This may appeal to families who are torn between a minivan and an SUV, and it’s on the list of the best cars for families.

The 2021 Honda Passport offers things tht your kids will love, like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also has plenty of USB ports in the bak row, which will make smartphone-toting kids happy. The rear seats, which are more spacious than most two-row SUVs are heated, which will make kids happy on cold winter days.

Perhaps most importantly, the 2021 Honda Passport has great crash-test ratings. These include five stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for crash tests, and a plethora of safety features.

The 2021 Kia Telluride is quickly becoming a family favorite

If you’re car shopping, you’ve undoubtedly heard the 2021 Kia Telluride’s name come up a time or two (or a thousand). There’s a very good reason for that. The 2021 Kia Telluride offers a whole bunch of space, as well as safety and fun features that will make everyone happy to spend hours carpooling to sports. It’s consistently ranked as one of the best cars for families.

U.S. News gave the 2021 Kia Telluride the Best Three0row SUV for Families award two years in a row. It received a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, which is its second-highest honor. It also has loads of standard safety features.

The 2021 Kia Telluride offers rear-seat reminder, which reminds drivers to check that the backseat is empty, and free from kids or pets who may be forgotten on a stressful or unusual day. There’s even a “quiet mode” which allows your kids to listen to Olivia Rodrigo on repeat without you having to do the same (after you’ve sung along a half dozen times, of course).

The 2021 Chevy Suburban is one of the best SUVs for families

The 2021 Chevy Suburban is perhaps the most spacious full-size SUV you’ll find on this list. You can seat nine in a 2021 Suburban, which means you can likely take all your kids and their friends to that soccer game an hour away.

The 2021 Chevrolet Suburban has a lot of safety features that you’ll find useful, like automatic emergency braking and rear parking sensors. There’s a rear-seat reminder in the Suburban, as well as a Teen Driver system. This allows you to help your teen become a safer driver by controlling just how fast they can take your Suburban out at, and how loud they can listen to their music (if only that feature could be used outside of the Suburban).

The 2021 Toyota Rav4 is a great choice for anyone looking for a smaller SUV

Lots of people don’t want an enormous SUV, and if you’re one of them, you may gravitate toward the 2021 Toyota Rav4. One of the best parts of the 2021 Rav4 is the ease with which you can install car seats into it. The compact SUV has a Good safety rating for its car seat LATCH system, so you know properly putting in your child’s car seat should be that much more manageable.
