The appeal of electric vehicles continues to grow as automakers deliver EVs with improved performance and style along with better electric driving ranges. Most modern electric SUVs have an electric driving range between 200 and 300 miles, but some electric vehicles are overachievers. Here are four electric SUVs with standard electric driving ranges of over 300 miles!

1. Cadillac Lyriq

The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq is a top-of-the-line luxury SUV that can go approximately 312 miles before recharging. The all-electric 340 hp engine generates 325 lb-ft of torque with an EPA combined 89 MPGe.

Despite being the first electric vehicle for the automaker, with a starting price of $62,990, demand for the Lyriq was high. GM accelerated production on the new EV earlier this year, and according to the Cadillac website, all orders for the 2023 model are now complete. Pre-orders for the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq are currently underway.

Edmunds reports, “The Lyriq delivers a premium look and feel for the price, with ambitious range and battery capabilities in the fledgling luxury EV space.”

2. Rivian R1S

The 2023 Rivian R1S electric SUV can deliver 320+ miles of range, depending on the type of motor and battery pack selected. According to Rivian, “the Dual-Motor and 21″ wheel combination is the most efficient, with the 20″ and 22″ wheels having a range reduction of 10-15% and 5-10%, respectively.”

The Rivian R1S offers two powertrain options, a dual-motor or quad-motor AWD system. The quad setup utilizes an electric motor on each wheel and gets a robust 835 hp and 908 lb-ft of torque. Acceleration is blazing, taking just three seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph. With a class-leading towing capacity of up to 7,700 lbs, the MSRP for the 2023 Rivian R1S is $73,000.

The Rivian Adventure Network provides chargers across the country that can add approximately 140 miles of electric driving range in 20 minutes, with a charging output of over 200 kW. The charging stations are exclusive for Rivian owners and offer automatic charging, so all you have to do is pull up and plug in.

3. Tesla Model Y

The 2022 Tesla Model Y has an estimated electric driving range of 330 miles. The all-electric five-passenger SUV gets an EPA combined 122 MPGe and, according to Edmunds, “uses 27 kWh of electricity for every 100 miles of driving, making it the most efficient luxury EV behind the Tesla Model 3.”

Car and Driver pointed out that the Tesla Model Y is “larger than it appears,” with a “rounded design right out of Tesla’s playbook.” The Model Y measures 187.0 inches long, making it 4.9 inches longer and 2.6 inches wider than the 2022 Honda CR-V.

With more than 35,000 global superchargers and a lighter 12-volt lithium-ion battery, the Model Y takes approximately 15 minutes to recharge up to 162 miles. The Tesla website lists the MSRP as $65,990, with an estimated delivery time between December 2022 and March 2023.

4. Tesla Model X

The 2022 Tesla Model X carries a hefty price tag with an MSRP of $120,990. The four-door AWD electric SUV offers an unbeatable electric driving range of 348 miles with an EPA combined 102 MPGe. The Model X generates a staggering 670 hp and can tow up to 5,000 lbs.

Tesla touts the Model X Plaid variant as the “highest performing SUV ever built,” generating a mind-blowing 1,020 hp, going from 0 to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds. 

According to Edmunds, despite the Model X generating almost 350 miles of driving range on a full charge, the EV “no longer has a lock on the luxury electric SUV segment.” It claims the “finicky operation of falcon-wing doors” and lack of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto could turn consumers toward other electric luxury SUV models hitting the market.
