There are a lot of great midsize sedans on the market right now, and some of the best options in the segment are the Honda Accord and the Toyota Camry. That being said, car shoppers may want more options than just those two cars, and fortunately, there are alternatives to them. Here’s a look at four great Honda Accord alternatives that aren’t a Toyota Camry.

1. Kia K5

According to Edmunds, the Kia K5 starts at about $25,000, this is cheaper than the Honda Accord’s $26,500 starting price tag. The two cars are also fairly similar in terms of trunk space, but the Honda has a small edge. The Accord has 16.7 cu. ft. of trunk space, while the K5 has 16 cu. ft. 

Both cars have similar specs under the hood, but the K5 has less horsepower and it gets more torque. The Accord has a 1.5-liter four-cylinder that’s paired to a CVT. It gets 192 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque, and it allows the car to get 33 mpg combined.

The K5, meanwhile, has a 1.6-liter four-cylinder paired to an eight-speed automatic. It gets 180 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque, and it allows the Kia to get 31 mpg combined. Both cars come with front-wheel drive.

2. Hyundai Sonata

The Hyundai Sonata, meanwhile, is an even more affordable car, as it starts at about $24,500. Like the Honda Accord and the Kia K5 and every other midsize sedan on this list, the Sonata will be able to seat five people. Similar to the K5, the Sonata also has 16 cu. ft. of trunk space.

Unlike the Kia K5 though, the Sonata starts with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired to an eight-speed automatic. This engine gets 191 hp and 181 lb-ft of torque, which is similar to what the Accord gets. The Hyundai also has a similar fuel economy to the Honda, as it gets an estimated 32 mpg combined. Additionally, the Sonata starts with front-wheel drive.

3. Nissan Altima

The Nissan Altima is another cheap option, though it’s more expensive than the Sonata. The Altima starts at about $25,000. Nissan gave the car less cargo capacity than the Honda Accord has though, as the Altima has 15.4 cu. ft. of trunk space.

Under the hood, the Altima has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired to a CVT. This engine gets 188 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque, which means that it has roughly the same amount of horses as the Accord does. This engine also allows the Altima sedan to get 32 mpg combined, which is roughly similar to what the Honda gets. Front-wheel drive is also standard on the Altima.

4. Subaru Legacy

The Subaru Legacy is another great Accord alternative, and it’s the cheapest car on this list. It starts at about $23,500, with seating for up to five people. That being said, the Legacy also has the smallest trunk space on this list, as it only gets 15.1 cu. ft. of trunk space. Subaru equipped the Legacy with a 2.5-liter flat-four engine, which is a similar engine to what other Subarus have.

This engine is paired to a CVT, and it gets 182 hp and 176 lb-ft of torque. That’s weaker than the Honda Accord’s standard engine, but it’s not a huge difference. Despite being weaker, the Legacy only gets about 30 mpg combined, which is slightly worse than what the Honda gets. This is mostly because the Legacy has all-wheel drive as a standard feature.
