What is Ken Block’s Gymkhana?

Ken Block’s Gymkhana is his viral video series based on the racing terminology “Gymkhana.” Originally, it referred to an equestrian or motorsport racing series similar to autocross; in Block’s case, it’s pushing it to the limit.

Block’s Gymkhana series spanned multiple videos with hundreds of millions of viewers. The reason for the copious views is evident, too. These videos involved the Hoonigan driver conquering everything from death-defying drifts with little regard for gravity to Block’s personal favorite: the famed drift jump from Gymkhana 5.  

What is Ken Block’s drift car?

Ken Block has piloted many drift cars over the years, but his favorite drift stunt involved a drift jump with a Ford Fiesta ST RX43 drift car. The vicious little Fiesta build produces 600 bhp. Moreover, Top Gear says it could hit 60 mph in less than 2.0 seconds.

Of course, that kind of swivel-eyed lunacy is necessary for a mad-driving scientist like Block to perform his favorite drift stunt: the aptly-named “drift jump” from Gymkhana 5. The trick involved simultaneously hitting a 90-degree right turn with a jump, and Block didn’t skip a beat. 

Did Ken Block and Hoonigan wall ride a rally car?

It’s true; the world-class rally and stunt driver is a skateboarder and co-founder of DC Shoes. So it’s no surprise that Ken Block took a rally car to France to wall ride a rally car up a banked track as part of Gymkhana 3. 

The trick, which is a famous skateboarding maneuver, isn’t natural for a car. However, given Block’s custom 2011 Ford Fiesta GYM3 and its 600 horsepower power output, the wall ride trick had met its match. Still, the wall ride isn’t the only wild and crazy gravity-defying stunt in Block’s Hoonigan history; he also drifted a 2016 Ford Focus RS RX around a waterfront and draped the back tires over oblivion. Whether you find it silly or courageous, it’s a remarkable sight. 

Ken Block introduced the Hoonicorn to London with a thunderous tour

In addition to Ken Block’s incredible Gymkhana videos, he once took his savagely fast 1965 Ford Mustang RTR “Hoonicorn” to London, England, to take the former Top Gear presenter Matt LeBlanc, for a “tour.” Of course, in an all-wheel drive, 1,400-horsepower race car, it’s quite the spectacle. 

How much is Ken Block’s Mustang worth?

According to the duPont Registry, the fully custom 1965 Ford Mustang RTR Hoonicorn build is priceless. While that may seem odd, it makes sense, given the unique nature of the build. Moreover, considering Ken Block’s passing, the Mustang is that much more irreplaceable.
