Are you thinking about buying either the 2023 Toyota Sienna or the 2023 Honda Odyssey? The Sienna has several advantages for minivan shoppers. Here are four reasons to buy a 2023 Sienna, not a 2023 Odyssey.

2023 Toyota Sienna gets better gas mileage than the 2023 Honda Odyssey

The first reason to buy a 2023 Toyota Sienna instead of a 2023 Odyssey is the Sienna gets better gas mileage than the Odyssey. Considering how expensive gasoline is these days, a more efficient minivan like the Sienna translates to more savings.

The Sienna has a fuel-sipping hybrid powertrain, which combines two electric motors with a gas engine. It gets an estimated gas mileage of up to 36 city/36 highway mpg. The Odyssey, which only offers a traditional gas-powered model, has an estimated fuel economy of up to 19 city/28 highway mpg.

Unlike the 2023 Odyssey, the 2023 Sienna offers an all-wheel drive system

The second reason to buy a 2023 Toyota Sienna instead of a 2023 Honda Odyssey is, unlike the Odyssey, the Sienna offers an available all-wheel drive system. While both minivans come standard with a front-wheel drive system, you can only get all-wheel drive for the Sienna.

For driving in adverse weather conditions with slippery roads, a traction-enhancing all-wheel drive system is good to have. This is especially the case if you live in a location that has harsh winter weather with snow and ice.

Also, an all-wheel drive system is helpful for driving on rough roads, such as ones with cracks and potholes. Additionally, while most people use a minivan exclusively for on-road driving, the all-wheel drive system in the Sienna gives it the ability to drive off-road.

Toyota Sienna is more maneuverable than the Honda Odyssey

The third reason to buy a 2023 Sienna instead of a 2023 Odyssey is the Sienna is more maneuverable than the Odyssey. With its tighter turning circle (38.3 vs. 39.6 feet), the Sienna can more fluidly drive through traffic and maneuver around curves and corners. The greater maneuverability of the Sienna also makes it easier to back up and park.

Unlike the 2023 Odyssey, the 2023 Sienna offers a head-up display

The fourth reason to buy a 2023 Sienna instead of a 2023 Odyssey is, unlike the Odyssey, the Sienna offers an available head-up display (HUD). The Sienna’s head-up display projects driving information onto the windshield, creating a “floating” read-out for the driver. It’s non-invasive and enables the driver to view information without having to search around the dashboard to see it. Information provided in the Sienna’s HUD system include speed, navigation commands, driving assistance data, active cruise control data, and hybrid system indicators.

The 2023 Toyota Sienna has advantages over the 2023 Honda Odyssey for gas mileage, an available all-wheel drive system, maneuverability, and an available head-up display. For making a purchase decision between the two minivans, these are four key reasons to buy a 2023 Sienna, not a 2023 Odyssey.
