4 Things to Love About the 2022 Nissan Frontier
For the first time in 16 years, Nissan has given the Frontier a true update. And, there is a lot to like about this 2022 mid-size truck. It comes standard with a V6 engine, has a revised interior, and Nissan has made it more comfortable while driving on the road. Because of that, there is really a lot to like about this pickup, which isn’t something that can always be said about a truck. These four characteristics stand out the most for the 2022 Nissan Frontier truck.
The 2022 Frontier is comfortable
While the Frontier will not be as comfortable as something like a sedan, it is a big improvement over the previous generation. Nissan has revised the suspension and made the cabin a more quiet environment. Both of which are likely to be appreciated.
Although this truck boasts a V6 engine, it is never annoyingly loud, even when revving in the high range. That said, the interior is not as quiet as some modern full-size trucks, but that is a compromise that has to be made for this vehicle’s price point. Additionally, something Nissan has dubbed zero gravity seats are featured in this vehicle. Which provides ample support and a good driving position.
The new Nissan Frontier has a V6 engine
In terms of its powertrain, the Nissan Frontier comes standard with a 3.8-liter V6 engine. This engine provides 310 horsepower and is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Other trucks, like the 2022 Toyota Tacoma and 2022 Chevy Colorado will make you pay extra for the power of six cylinders, but that is not the case with the 2022 Frontier.
The fuel economy is not as good as rivals such as the Ford Ranger and Honda Ridgeline, but it is decent enough. Although even the Ford F-150 with its 2.7-liter turbo engine has better fuel economy.
This mid-size truck has driver assistance
Through the available technology package, the 2022 Frontier can come equipped with modern safety features. This includes things like lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control. The adaptive cruise control is fairly easy to adjust and offers a variety of ranges, which will be nice to have when highway driving.
When the lane departure warning system detects you are leaving your lane, it gives the steering wheel a vibration, and a warning flashes in the gauge cluster. The Frontier does not offer all of the latest safety tech, but what it does feature is appreciated in this segment.
The Frontier can still be an off-road truck
With the 2022 Nissan Frontier, buyers can opt for the PRO-4X trim. According to MotorTrend, this package offers a range of different off-road features, including Bilstein shocks. Owners will also be able to enjoy skid plates and an aggressive design.
The PRO-4X model competes with other off-road trucks like the Tacoma TRD Pro, but it comes in at a lower cost. Meaning it is more affordable to get off-road capability from your pickup. The 2022 Frontier PRO-4X may not be for everyone, but it is nice that it’s there.
