While full-size SUVs aren’t typically known as being great on gas, there are a few large SUVs that won’t cost you an arm and a leg at the gas pump. These three-row SUVs are gas-friendly, and you won’t regret buying them – at least when it comes time to fill them up at the gas station. These are four of the best full-size SUVs on gas.

The 2022 Ford Expedition is one of the best full-size SUVs on gas

The 2022 Ford Expedition is one of the best large SUVs on gas. The 2022 Ford Expedition has a 3.5-liter V6 engine that makes 400 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to that engine, the 2022 Ford Expedition gets 17 mpg in the city, 23 mpg on the highway, and 19 mpg combined. Sure, it isn’t a whole lot, but it’s certainly more than some other large SUVs.

The 2022 Ford Expedition price starts at $68,150. It includes a whole lot of great features like LED lights, a 12-inch touchscreen, and BlueCruise, which is Ford’s semi-autonomous driving system. This can be used on more than 100,000 highways in North America. The 2022 Ford Expedition XL also has a 4G wireless hotspot and keyless entry with push-button start.

The 2022 Chevy Tahoe has some of the best fuel economy for a large SUV

The 2022 Chevy Tahoe is another of the best full-size SUVs on gas. The 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe gets 16 mpg in the city, 20 mpg on the highway, and 18 mpg combined. That’s thanks to a 5.3-liter V8 that makes 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque.

The 2022 Chevy Tahoe price ranges from $49,700 to $73,000, according to Edmunds. That’s a wide range and there are plenty of trim levels in between the low end and high end of that price range. That means you have lots of options with which to customize your Chevrolet Tahoe exactly how you want it.

The 2022 GMC Yukon is great on gas

The 2021 GMC Yukon has a 5.3-liter V8 engine, similar to its Chevy Tahoe sibling. Like the Tahoe, the 2021 GMC Yukon makes 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. The biggest difference between the 2022 Chevy Tahoe and 2021 GMC Yukon is the styling. Its fuel economy is the same as the Tahoe, at 16 mpg in the city, 20 mpg on the highway, and 18 mpg combined.

The 2022 GMC Yukon price starts at $52,100, but that’s far from where it ends. The 2022 GMC Yukon Denali price starts at $70,045 for the diesel engine. It’s possible to make that even higher by upgrading to the 6.2-liter V8 engine, which costs $71,695. Packages and add-ons drive up the price even more.

The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer is a newcomer with excellent fuel economy

The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer is Jeep’s latest incarnation of their old Wagoneer, which we last saw 30 years ago. Today’s Jeep Wagoneer has great fuel economy. Its 5.7-liter V8 engine makes 392 hp and 404 lb-ft of torque. With that engine, the Wagoneer gets 16 mpg in the city, 22 mpg on the highway, and 18 mpg combined.

The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer price starts at $57,995. It’s incredibly nice (though of course, it’s not quite as luxurious as the Grand Wagoneer). It has a well-appointed, leather interior, a digital instrument cluster, and a 10.1-inch infotainment screen that can be upgraded to a 12-inch screen. It can also seat up to 8 with the right configuration, though second-row captain’s chairs only allow up to 7 passengers.

If you want one of the best full-size SUVs on gas, you can’t go wrong with any of these SUVs. They each offer everything you’d expect in a large SUV while also offering excellent fuel economy.
