As a result, a number of cars will outmuscle the Dark Horse for less, like the 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, 2014 Shelby GT500, and C6 Chevy Corvette Z06.

However, each of these four cars produces over 500 horsepower for less than the 2024 Dark Horse Mustang’s starting price of around $57,970. 

How much is the 2014 GT500 Shelby worth?

A 2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 has a fair value of around $38,647 with average mileage. That makes the Shelby model one of the best V8-powered performance bargains at its price point. 

Specifically, the S197-generation Shelby GT500 produces 662 horsepower and 631 lb-ft of torque from its supercharged 5.8L V8. That’s around 162 more ponies than Ford claims the latest range-topping S650 Mustang will produce. 

Is a used 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio more powerful than a new Dark Horse Mustang?

The 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is nothing short of a four-door Ferrari with a more accessible badge. It summons 505 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque from its Ferrari-derived turbocharged 2.9L V6. 

Moreover, the 2017 Giulia Quadrifoglio has a fair value of around $35,476 with average mileage, according to Kelley Blue Book (KBB). 

Does a 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat out-muscle the upcoming 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse?

The first model year of the venerable Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat changed the face of the horsepower wars. It produced a tire-eating 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque from its supercharged 6.2L V8, obliterating the previous record-holding 2014 Shelby GT500’s power figures. 

Moreover, a used Challenger SRT Hellcat with average mileage has a fair purchase price of around $37,577. Still, you’d be hard-pressed to find a decent example for under $40,000. 

How much HP does a C6 Z06 have?

One of the best performance bargains on the market, the 2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 produces an eager 505 rampaging horses and 470 lb-ft of torque from its naturally aspirated 7.0L V8 (you read that right; it’s a seven-liter mill). 

Moreover, the C6 Z06 will hit 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds, as fast as a much newer Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio and almost certainly quicker than the upcoming Dark Horse Mustang will handle the sprint.
