The ongoing chip crisis and supply chain disruptions have left car manufacturers without a way to make new vehicles. This has resulted in the price of both new and used cars to skyrocket. Yet the price increase isn’t spread evenly across all makes and models of SUVs and trucks. These are the four worst SUVs and trucks you can buy right now.

4. The GMC Sierra 1500 is one of the worst trucks you can buy right now

If you buy a used GMC Sierra 1500 right now, it will cost you 41.3% more than it would have in June of 2020. That’s according to iSeeCars, which says that the price of a used GMC Sierra 1500 would have cost you $33,828 in 2020. If you bought that same used GMC Sierra 1500 in June of 2021, you’d pay $47,791. That’s a whopping $13,963 price increase.

3. The Lincoln Navigator is one of the worst SUVs you can buy right now

The average price for a Lincoln Navigator in June of 2021 is $65,236. That’s a whole lot more than a Lincoln Navigator would have cost you in June of 2020, and it’s only one of two Lincolns on this list of the worst SUVs and trucks to buy right now. At $45,825, the Lincoln Navigator was $19,411 cheaper a year ago than it is in 2021.

2. The Ram 1500 Pickup is number five on the list of the top 10 worst cars to buy right now

The Ram 1500 pickup truck is one of the worst pickup trucks you can buy right now. At the same time, it’s one of the best trucks to sell because of the high price that they’re going for. If you bought a Ram 1500 pickup in June of 2020, you would have paid $28,184. If you bought a Ram 1500 pickup in June 2021, you’d have paid $40,200. That’s $12,016 more than last year.

1. The Lincoln Navigator L is the SUV with the greatest price increase over the last year

The Lincoln Navigator L is the SUV whose price has increased the most since June of 2020, making it the worst SUV or truck you can buy right now. If you’d bought the Navigator in June of 2020, it would have cost you $46,116. That same used Lincoln Navigator L would cost you about $20,000 more in June of 2021. $20,392 to be exact, for a total price of $66,508.That’s an increase of 44.2% in just one year.

Obviously it’s not a great time to be buying a used SUV or truck. In fact, it’s a downright awful time. Still, not everyone can wait to buy an SUV or truck, and there’s no guarantee that prices will go back down soon, or ever. If you’re in the unenviable position of having no choice about buying a new-to-you pickup truck or SUV right now, you can at least try to avoid these four trucks and SUVs. If you do end up buying one of them, at least be aware that you’re going to pay roughly 40% more for your vehicle than you would have a year ago.
