San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy Signs Deal With Toyota
Brock Purdy, quarterback (QB) for the Super Bowl LVIII-bound San Francisco 49ers is making moves. The latest? The 24-year-old professional football player signed a national endorsement deal with Toyota, one of the world’s preeminent automakers. It’s the first time that the Japanese brand, the marque behind the ever-popular Camry, Corolla, Tundra, and 4Runner, has signed a deal with a specific player since signing its official sponsorship with the NFL.
A tweet confirmed that San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy has a deal with Toyota
10 days out from Super Bowl LVIII, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy signed a national endorsement deal with Toyota. A tweet from sports reporter Darren Rovel confirmed that Purdy entered into the official deal with Toyota.
According to Rovel’s tweet, the partnership is the first deal Toyota made with a professional football player in the National Football League (NFL) since the company signed its official vehicle sponsorship in October. As a result, Toyota is the “Offical Automotive Partner of the National Football League.”
Brock Purdy has been playing for the San Francisco 49ers since 2022, after signing a four-year contract. Interestingly enough, Purdy was the final pick of the draft that year. “Mr. Irrelevant,” as the final pick is called, is now Super Bowl-bound for the first time.
The news isn’t surprising; Purdy famously splits his rent with a roommate and drives a Toyota Sequoia. The Sequoia, one of the Japanese brand’s full-size SUVs, is a sensible choice for the famous athlete to daily drive. However, it’s not exactly a flashy ride. It’s certainly not the sort of ride you’d expect an NFL quarterback to drive.
Still, the San Francisco QB’s choice of wheels reflects some brand loyalty. Today, Purdy made his relationship with Toyota official by signing an endorsement agreement.
