5 of the Best Budget-Friendly All-Wheel-Drive Sedans
Winter is here and the year is coming to an end, so it’s a great time to purchase a car. And while the current market conditions are a little crazy, that doesn’t mean that you can’t get the car that you want, even if you’re on a budget. And if you live in an area where all-wheel drive is a must, don’t worry, you still have some options. Here are five of them.
The Toyota Camry is available with all-wheel drive
The Toyota Camry is a sales leader in its segment and one of the most prevalent cars on the road. But did you know that it’s available with an all-wheel drivetrain? According to Auto Guide, Toyota gave the Camry an all-wheel-drive configuration for the 2020 model year and it’s even available on the base LE model. Aside from its fuel-efficient, 203-hp four-cylinder engine, the other main highlight is that the AWD Camry won’t break the bank with its $26,695 price tag.
The Nissan Altima can spin all four wheels too
Speaking of popular Japanese mid-size sedans, the Nissan Altima is available with an all-wheel drivetrain as well. What’s even more interesting is that, like the Camry, the Altima can only spin all four wheels when it’s equipped with the base 2.4-liter engine that makes 182 hp. However, unlike the Camry, the all-wheel-drive option is not available on the base model but instead comes with the SV trim level that starts at $26,950.
The Mazda3 offers maximum grip in a small sedan
If you need something smaller than a mid-size sedan, then the Mazda3 is an excellent choice. Its well-appointed interior, sharp looks, and sharper handling make it an eye-catching joy to drive. You’ll have to step up to the Preferred trim level to get the all-wheel drivetrain, but given the car’s capability and upscale build quality, you probably won’t mind shelling out $26,150.
If you want a luxury sedan on a budget, then the Audi A3 is here for you
Just because you’re on a budget, it doesn’t mean that you can’t afford a luxury car. The Audi A3 provides buyers with an entry-level luxury car experience that starts at $35,900. And while that price might sound a lot higher than others on this list, consider that it affords you an A3 with Quattro AWD and a potent turbocharged 2.0-liter engine.
But of course, we can’t leave out the Subaru Impreza
If your budget can’t support a nearly $40,000 car, or even a $26,000 one, then you can always check out a Subaru Impreza. The base model comes standard with the brand’s Symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive system and starts at just $18,795. What’s even better is that there’s an option for a five-speed manual transmission to be connected to its 152-hp 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine. All things considered, the Impreza might actually be the best choice on this list.
An all-wheel-drive sedan doesn’t need to break your budget
While it might sound like any all-wheel-drive sedan in the market might inevitably break your budget, these five examples show that that’s not always the case. While dealer inventories might be low right now, there’s still a good chance that you’ll be able to score a decent deal on one of these entry-level sedans. Fortunately, it won’t cost an arm and a leg to do so.
