  • The 2018 Toyota Camry is the obvious cheap car choice
  • $20K gets you a near-luxury car in the Mazda6
  • The Subaru Legacy offers standard AWD on the cheap

This might sound pretty obvious, but your best bet for a cheap used car in this crazy market is a lightly used one. In the best of circumstances, something like the 2018 Toyota Camry will still come with some kind of warranty in tact. More to the point, you can make a budget of around $20,000 stretch much, much further with a used car like a Camry or Corolla than a leased car.

If you want to lean a little more into the luxury side of things, the 2017 Mazda6 is the car for you.
