According to estimates from InsideEVs, with almost 150,000 electric cars sold so far in the U.S. and over 800,000 sold around the world, 2019 has been a great year so far for electric cars.

Indeed, the sales of electric cars have been pacing well ahead of the sales of electric cars in 2018. Although Tesla still dominates the majority of the U.S. market for electric vehicles, the electric cars of other automakers have been selling well too. Here’s a breakdown of the 5 best selling electric cars in the U.S. so far.

1. Tesla Model 3

Although not cheap, the latest and more affordable Tesla Model 3 is by far the best selling electric car so far in 2019, currently accounting for over 67,000 electric car sales.

This means that 45% of all electric cars sold so far in 2019 has been the Model 3. The main selling point of the Model 3 is its more affordable price tag of about $39,000 to $55,000 depending on the variant desired. It also sports a 240-mile battery and a very high safety rating among other features.

2. Tesla Model X

Tesla’s electric SUV, the Model X has been in high demand for years now and that trend continues in 2019 as the Model X has sold over 9,000 cars so far.

Although the Model X costs more than the Model 3, Tesla has made some recent changes to its price and offerings. Car and Driver reported that Tesla has made the Long Range variant the standard variant. This means that going forward, the Model X will feature a 325-mile battery and have a starting price tag of about $86,000.

For comparison, that same variant would’ve cost over $100,000 not that long ago. The Model X is also a very safe car and it offers drivers a larger and roomier vehicle, with options for up to seven seats available.

3. Chevrolet Bolt EV

The Chevrolet Bolt is the best selling non-Tesla electric car so far in 2019, with over 8,000 sold. As the first serious electric car from the big three American automakers, the Chevrolet Bolt continues to successfully compete against Tesla.

In fact, so far in 2019, the Chevrolet Bolt has outsold the next entry on this list, the Tesla Model S. The main features of the Chevrolet Bolt is its 238-mile battery and its affordable price tag of about $37,000. Other features of the Chevrolet Bolt include its 5-star safety rating and its 10-inch touchscreen display.

4. Tesla Model S

With over 7,000 cars sold, the Model S is the worst-selling Tesla model so far in 2019. Similar to the Model X, Tesla has turned the Long Range variant of the Model S into the standard variant.

Going forward, the Model S will sport a 370-mile battery and have a base price tag of about $81,000. The Model S will still have the high-performance features that are the main selling point of the car, with its 155 miles per hour top speed and its ability to go 0 to 60 mph in 2.4 seconds or 4.1 seconds depending on the variant purchased.

5. Nissan Leaf

The Nissan Leaf rounds out this list of the best selling electric cars in 2019 with over 6,000 cars sold so far. The Nissan Leaf is the cheapest of the five models on this list, with a base price of about $30,000.

Currently, because of how the federal tax credits for electric vehicles are distributed, the Nissan Leaf is the only car on this list to still have the full $7,500 tax credit available. The Nissan Leaf also has two variants, one with a 150-mile battery and another with a 226-mile battery. The Nissan Leaf also features an advanced safety suite that includes features like automatic emergency braking and a blind-spot warning system.
