5 Cars That Are Faster and Cheaper Than a Chevrolet C8 Corvette
We recently spent some time driving the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette and were impressed with its exotic looks and blistering speed. The C8 Corvette is fun to drive and surprisingly comfortable on the road as well. However, we didn’t like that it cost $83,965.
Fortunately, you don’t need to spend that much if you’re looking for the same type of speed. Although, you will have to look at the used market. Here are five used cars that car faster and cheaper than the current C8 Corvette.
2006 Dodge Viper SRT10
The 2006 Dodge Viper was a sports car icon in its day. Under its hood was a massive 8.4-liter V10 engine that pumped out 510 hp and 535 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels. The only issue is that the Viper wasn’t the most civilized sports car, as that power was tough for novice drivers to tame. But if they could, they could expect 0-60 mph times in under 4 seconds and quarter-mile times in the 12-second range, which is on par with the C8 Corvette.
2017 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R
The 2017 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R featured a 5.2-liter V8 engine with a flat-plane crankshaft, direct injection, and variable valve timing. With these revisions, it put out 526 hp and 429 lb-ft of torque, which makes it comparable to the current Corvette. The best part is that you can find one for less than $60,000 in today’s used market, which makes it a bargain in comparison.
2013 Nissan GT-R
If you’re looking for a sports car that’s as fast as a C8 Corvette with the added benefit of AWD, the Nissan GT-R is what you seek. The GT-R has been around for over a decade, which is a good thing because used models can be found for fractions of their original MSRP.
According to MotorTrend, “Off the line, the GT-R remains one of the fastest cars on the road. It’s light and agile on the track, and the ride quality is comfortable enough for daily driving.” We couldn’t agree more.
2016 Audi RS7
The Audi RS7 might not be the sports car you think of when looking for a C8 Corvette alternative, but it’s a good one. It’s a four-door sedan with a hatchback that makes it much more practical than the newer coupe. Also, its 605-hp engine means it makes more power than the Corvette, and it can put it to the ground better with its Quattro AWD system.
2016 Cadillac CTS-V
Speaking of fast sedans, the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V is a good C8 Corvette substitute if you want practicality to go with your power. Not only does it have four doors and comfortable seating for five, the CTS-V also pounds the pavement with 640 hp. Who needs a sporty-looking coupe, anyway?
Faster and cheaper C8 Corvette alternatives
If you ever get the chance to drive a Chevrolet Corvette, you will surely be blown away by its performance and speed. However, if you can’t afford one, we’re sure these five alternatives will bring just as much joy behind the wheel.
