However, luxury isn’t relegated to only large vehicles. There are plenty of small and midsize luxury SUVs for those who don’t want to pilot a ship on the highway.

U.S. News compiled a list of luxury SUVs with the highest interior scores reflecting comfort, infotainment features, cargo space, styling, and build quality.

2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer—Interior Score: 9.3/10

The Jeep Grand Wagoneer catches attention with its eye-watering price—topping out at $110,000 for its Series III trim level, according to U.S. News. However, when the Jeep’s doors are opened, it drops jaws with its interior. There isn’t a whiff of plastic, as premium materials are used throughout the cabin. The three-row SUV comes with second-row captain’s chairs—or an optional bench seat—and even taller adults can fit comfortably in the third row.

Apart from its stunning interior, the Grand Wagoneer has enough entertainment options to comfort and distract any passenger. An exclusive optional interactive display for the passenger seat can be used for navigation co-pilot, multimedia entertainment, Fire TV, and exterior vehicle cameras. Standard infotainment features also include a 19-speaker McIntosh audio system, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and wireless charging, available on the base Jeep Grand Wagoneer for $88,640.

2022 Cadillac Escalade—Interior Score: 8.8/10

The Cadillac Escalade’s top-tier interior offers comfortable seating for up to eight people. Adults can enjoy space, comfort, and synthetic leather upholstery in any of the three rows. Other “basic” features include heated and power-folding first and second-row seats, a 16.9-inch touchscreen, and wireless charging and connectivity.

Although from-the-factory Escalades are jam-packed with luxury accommodations, the model’s options list is enormous. Shoppers can select massaging front seats, a panoramic sunroof, Super Cruise, rear-seat entertainment, and even a center console refrigerator/freezer. Shoppers can step into a Cadillac Escalade for as little as $79,795. Yet, for the top-of-the-line supercharged Escalade-V, expect to spend over $150,000.

2022 Lincoln Navigator—Interior Score: 8.8/10

Lincoln’s flagship luxury SUV has the most expansive passenger cabin, second only to a school bus. With room for eight in immense comfort, the Lincoln Navigator also provides ample cargo room. Even if shoppers find themselves short on space, an extended wheelbase Navigator L is available.

The comfy cabin features heated and ventilated seats in its first two rows, all wrapped in sumptuous leather. Other standard features include an impressive 13.2-inch touchscreen, wireless charging and connectivity, and a plethora of active safety technologies. Optional equipment includes a dual-screen rear-seat entertainment system, a panoramic sunroof, and partially-automated driving assistance. The base Lincoln Navigator Standard begins at $77,635, while the Black Label L can fetch more than $120,000.

2023 Audi Q3—Interior Score: 8.1/10

Audi’s five-seater luxury subcompact SUV may seem small, but it has all the hallmarks of a comfortable place to be. The rear seats may be a bit cramped for taller adults, but it helps that they slide and recline. That said, the Audi Q3’s luxury isn’t measured in cargo space. 

Standard features include leather upholstery, heated front seats, tri-zone automatic climate control, an 8.8-inch infotainment touchscreen, and smartphone integration. However, wireless charging Wireless device charging, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Audi’s Virtual Cockpit are optional extras. While the Audi may not have the Versailles-level luxury the others have, it’s much cheaper. The base Premium 40 trim starts at $36,400, and the S Line Premium 45 can be had for $38,700.

2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE—Interior Score: 8.0/10

With composed handling and a quiet, relaxed ride, the Mercedes-Benz GLE midsize five-seater luxury SUV can comfortably fit adults in both rows. Although a third row is optional, it’s only big enough for children. Regardless, even with two rows, the GLE gives owners peace of mind to have enough cargo space for any venture. 

Synthetic leather upholstery and heated front seats with power adjustments come standard on the base Mercedes-Benz GLE. Others consist of a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless charging and connectivity, five USB ports, and a “Hey Mercedes” virtual assistant. Optional features include cooling and massaging front seats, a temperature-controlled steering wheel, armrests, cup holders, second-row seats, and a cabin air fragrance system. Mercedes-Benz GLEs start at $56,150, but a 603-hp AMG version can be had for $116,850.

What is the most comfortable luxury SUV of 2022?
