5 of the Coolest Features on the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray
We drove the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray around this week and found that there’s plenty to love about it. It looks and sounds like a supercar, and it comes with features that you normally wouldn’t expect a Corvette to have. Most people may think the Corvette is only good for straight-line speed, but our test car proved that there’s more to it than that. Here are five of the coolest features we found on the 2023 Corvette Stingray.
1. The front lift mechanism on the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette keeps the front bumper out of harm’s way
When the 2023 Chevy Corvette was dropped off, we weren’t sure if its front end would get scraped while leaving the driveway. Fortunately, we noticed a little button on the center console with a car and an “up arrow.” When pushed, the Corvette’s front end lifts up by about a half inch for more ground clearance in just three seconds.
But that’s not all; the coolest part about the lift system is that you can program it to remember where the car needs a front-end lift. So if you routinely pull out of a certain driveway every day, the car will remember that location and lift the front end accordingly. No more scraping!
2. The Bose Performance Series 14-speaker audio system is sublime
We’re suckers for premium audio systems, and the Chevrolet Corvette did not disappoint. Our test car came with an upgraded Bose Performance Series audio system with 14 speakers placed around the cabin. The system was clear and well-balanced, which made every song sound sublime.
3. The Z51 Performance Package takes the Corvette to another level
If you’re looking to up the ante on the 2023 Corvette’s performance, then the Z51 Performance Package is in order. Our tester came with this option, which included Michelin Pilot Sport 4S summer tires, stiffer springs, a Magnetic Selective Ride Control, and aerodynamic aids like air deflectors and a spoiler.
According to Car and Driver, “A splitter fitted to the lower edge of the front bumper cover and a tricky, multiplane decklid spoiler add 400 pounds of downforce that improves high-speed stability.” Of course, we couldn’t really feel the added downforce when driving the Corvette on the streets, but it’s great for anyone that wants to do more serious driving on the track.
4. The removable roof transforms the Corvette in less than a minute
As if the Corvette couldn’t get any cooler, its removable top transforms it from a coupe to a convertible in less than a minute. It would have been better if it was a powered top, but we can’t complain. Especially since it was easy to remove the roof panel and stick it in the trunk area.
5. The 6.2-liter V8 engine provides plenty of power
Lastly, it’s hard not to call out the large 6.2-liter V8 engine under the Corvette’s hood. With the Z51 package, it produces 495 hp and 490 lb-ft of torque, which is enough power to rocket the car up to 60 mph from a standstill in around three seconds. In reality, the power comes on in a linear fashion as you make your way through the rev range.
The 8-speed automatic transmission that it’s attached to shifts quickly and smoothly as it transmits the power to the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential. Overall, it’s a fantastic setup and the main reason you would want to buy a Corvette.
The coolest 2023 Corvette Stingray features
We had a great time driving the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette and experiencing what it had to offer. There are a lot of great features on it, but these five stood out the most. If you’re looking for a sports car with supercar-like looks and performance at half the price, look no further than the Corvette.
