5 Fancy Features on the 2023 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X
Trucks are meant to be rugged and off-road worthy, not fancy and button-up. However, times are changing, and as new car features become more advanced, some trucks feel more like luxury cars than work-site haulers. Exhibit A; the 2023 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X is super capable but also pretty fancy. Check out the fancy features we found on our tester for the week.
1. The Nissan Frontier Pro Convenience package adds heating elements
Our 2023 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X test truck came with a few options, including the Pro Convenience package. This package adds convenience features like LED under rail lighting, a trailer hitch and mount, and a wireless car charger. But it also adds a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, and heated outside mirrors. Those heating elements alone make the Frontier far more comfortable in cold weather, and we’re surprised Nissan added them.
2. The aluminum front and underbody skids plates add protection
The Nissan Frontier receives aluminum front and underbody skid plates that add protection when climbing over rocks. We didn’t do any hardcore rock crawling during our time with the Frontier, but it’s nice that they are on there. They also give the truck a more aggressive look.
3. The Fender premium audio system is sublime
Our Frontier tester was outfitted with the Premium package, which includes the finer things in life, like leather seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a power sunroof. However, our favorite feature in this package was the 10-speaker Fender audio system. We’re audiophiles, and the Fender audio system was surprisingly fantastic, even at highway speeds. We also like that it doesn’t sound too heavy on the bass like many Bose systems.
4. Remote engine start and 120-volt outlets
The fancy features don’t stop at heated seats and a wireless car charger. Our Nissan Frontier also came equipped with a 120-volt plug in the rear console and the truck bed. That makes sense, considering some employees may need that on the job site, but what’s even better is that the truck has a remote engine start feature. We know that’s a common feature in most new cars today, but seeing it in a rugged truck like the Frontier is nice.
5. The 9-inch infotainment display is easy to use and connects well
Lastly, we like the 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the Frontier. It’s easy to use and comes equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. In our testing, we noticed that the system connected quickly and seamlessly to our phone whenever we started the car, which is quite the treat.
The 2023 Nissan Frontier has plenty of fancy features to offer
Although the top-trim 2023 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X has plenty of features to offer, we especially like these five. Keep in mind that the starting price of the PRO-4X trim is $38,720, and to get all these features, our tester came out to $46,380 due to the three packages it had. That’s a good amount of money to spend, but if you want a truck with all of the comfort of a luxury car, those packages are well worth the extra cash.
