Car shopping doesn’t often lead most people to a Ferrari. Maybe it should, though. Of course, even the cheapest Ferraris are still pretty pricey. However, you might not be aware of it, but some Ferraris may be within your budget. Of course, you’re not going to find one for $10,000. However, you might just find one well under the cost of a new BMW or Mercedes. Here are five Ferrari models you didn’t know are pretty affordable!

The Ferrari 400i is an affordable sleeper with V12 power

According to Hotcars, the Ferrari first produced the 400i in 1979.

The 400i is a stealthy one. It’s got a lovely boxy shape that, for its time period, seems fairly futuristic. It’s a front-engine 2+2 grand tourer. So, it’s not the track weapon that most Ferraris are associated with.

It’s certainly not down on power, though. The Ferrari 400i uses a 4.8-liter V12 engine that produces 306 horsepower.

If you’re a fan of electronic music, there’s great news. The 400i is the predecessor to the Ferrar 412 Daft Punk drove in their movie Electroma.

Though the price of these has gone up quite a bit, as with any V12 Ferrari, they are still available for under $100,000.

The 308 makes you want a mustache

Get out your Hawaiian shirt and grow out a mustache because it’s time for the Ferrari 308.

This iconic sports car was made famous by the hit TV show Magnum P.I. So throw the targa top off, slam it in first, and let that 270 horsepower 3.7-liter V8 scream. Even without V12 power, the 308 could sprint to 60 miles per hour in under 6 seconds. That’s not bad for its time!

Ferrari F430 is a modern marvel

If you’re looking for something a bit more on the modern side, the Ferrari F430 is your solution.

Of course, modernity doesn’t go hand in hand with affordability. However, for a Ferrari this recent, the price point of around $100,000 is actually relatively affordable for what you get.

Powering the F430 is a 483 horsepower 4.3-liter V8 engine in the middle of the chassis. It’s capable of a sprint from zero to 60 miles per hour in just 3.6 seconds and will proceed to a top speed of 196 miles per hour.

Another grand tourer, the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti

The 612 is a great option for another modern Ferrari if the front-engine grand touring lifestyle fits your bill. However, unlike the 430, the 612 Scaglietti does indeed pack a V12 punch.

With 533 horsepower worth of screaming 12-cylinder fury, this is a whole lot of car for its price point of around $100,000. However, they have seen a bit of an uptick in price lately.

The modern Ferrari stepping stone, F355

The Ferrari F355 is the perfect middle ground between affordable and modern.

Of course, as with all the other models, the prices of these cars have taken quite an upward climb lately. However, F355s are still available for under $100,000.

Ferrari planted a 3.5-liter V8 engine into these cars that are good for a power output of 375 horsepower. It can do zero to 60 miles per hour in 4.7 seconds. That’s plenty for a good time!

Ferraris aren’t affordable, but some are cheaper than others

Ultimately, if you’re on the hunt for a cheap Ferrari, there’s bad news for you. Cheap just does not go along with the iconic prancing horse logo.

However, if you’re looking for a car in the $100,000 range plus or minus $10,000 or so, there are some Ferrari options available to you. Sure, they’re not cheap. However, compared to the cheapest new Ferrari model costing well over $200,000, they look like a remarkable bargain.
