5 Luxurious Features on the 2023 Nissan Armada Platinum
We have spent a week with the 2023 Nissan Armada Platinum and are impressed with some of its features. The large three-row SUV has plenty to offer, including a large tow rating, seven seats, and a plethora of tech-savvy features. However, we decided it could be a good time to call out our five favorite luxury features on the Armada.
1. The 2023 Nissan Armada’s V8 engine is powerful
OK, the 2023 Nissan Armada’s V8 isn’t necessarily a luxury item, but it’s still good. While other SUVs, like the Toyota Sequoia, use twin-turbocharged V6 engines to get the job done, Nissan stuck with the tried-and-true V8. This 5.6-liter engine produces 400 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque, which is enough to tow up to 8,500 pounds.
That’s impressive, and the power is also plentiful for daily driving duties, as we found out. The only caveat is that we only averaged 17 mpg during our week of testing, which is pretty low.
2. The second-row captain’s chairs are a nice touch
Our Nissan Armada Platinum tester was outfitted with second-row captain’s chairs. The individual seats were supportive and comfortable, thanks to their quilted leather coverings. We also like the headrests and the amount of support they provided.
3. The rear-seat entertainment system is old-school but helpful
The Armada was also equipped with an optional rear entertainment system. The system consists of two 8-inch screens attached to the front-seat headrests. The screens can tilt for better viewing, and they’re controlled with a remote.
Although rear entertainment systems are a little archaic nowadays, considering everyone has a phone or a tablet at the ready, we liked the simplicity and availability of the system. Speaking of phones, the screen can mirror the user’s Android or Apple smartphone via a corded connection or through streaming apps.
4. Nissan’s Safety Shield 360
Nearly every vehicle in the market is equipped with a suite of driver-assist features, and the 2023 Nissan Armada is no exception. Every Armada carries Nissan’s Safety Shield 360 system, which has features like:
- Forward collision warning
- Automatic emergency braking
- Lane departure warning
- Blind spot warning collision avoidance
Our testing found that the system was helpful and not intrusive. The adaptive cruise control worked well, and the blind spot monitors did their jobs.
5. Easy-to-use infotainment system
While many other vehicles in the market have switched to using a touchscreen for HVAC controls and the infotainment system, Nissan went against the grain. The Armada features a 12.3-inch touchscreen that’s easy to use and responsive. But what’s even better about the setup is the volume and tuning knob, which makes operating the audio system easy. There are also buttons for the HVAC controls, which is a nice touch.
Our favorite features on the 2023 Nissan Armada Platinum
The 2023 Nissan Armada has so many different features that it’s hard to narrow them down to only five. However, these five features stood out to use the most since they are the most obvious features most drivers would use every day.
